Good coworkers, friendly environment, and good work-balance

I worked here as a full-time. I would say it gave me many bad working habits. No training at all. And the platform is too small, not good for young people. It's more like a family-owned workshop other than real company. I highly suggest young people go to big brand to gain skills and network. Don't waste your precious time here.

For most of my first year, it felt like an after school robotics teams. Lots of progress in bringing lots of production in house and customer support outreach. Met some great people through the company.
|
Middle management feared the word of the CEO. Sales team was completely uneducated in the product, save for maybe one person. CEO was petty, ineffectual, and a liar. Promises of raises going on for months and when it happened it was less than promised (and the recipient was ungrateful
when questioning why). Steer clear of this disaster.

I was sold on the sustainability of the product, saving the world through reduced carbon emissions, bla bla bla

The only thing Incenergy sustained was ill will. Customers, employees, And even our vendors began to hate the product. It was a good concept in the beginning and we did have some great talent, but poor management and letting good people go just caused it all to collapse. At one point, we had some cutting edge UI and functionality, but the big boys surpassed Incenergy long ago.

Listen to your people. Be flexible. Don't try to be everything to everyone. You desperately need some HR help. It's an HR nightmare in there. Taking better care of your employees will cost you less in the long run. The turnover doesn't just impact the bottom line, but it also is a downer for those still stuck there picking up.

There are some cool people here who really want to do good.
|
The building is pretty disgusting, a clear indication of how the company treats its employees. Do not, I repeat, do not go into the kitchen. You're lucky if you can find parking, only the CEO has a designated spot. Speaking of the CEO, I'm kind of embarrassed sometimes when other people come in. He's like stuck in 1980 and has the gold chains to prove it. He does drive a sweet Tesla, though. But I have to agree with these other reviews. The CEO is often our biggest obstacle. The product has taken a nosedive because we've lost most of our best people and it won't be long before we lose more. I go to work everyday worrying that we might be going under.

The downtown location is within walking distance of several great restaurants. There's lots of natural light in the office.

If you like working for a micro-managing megalomaniac, this is the place for you. Butts in seats are valued over actual performance. Unless you're one of the CEO's golden boys, that is. Rules do not apply for the few in that category, whether it's time off or sexual harassment.
