Software Engineering Intern Review
I had a fantastic experience as an intern at this company! The culture and vibes are truly awesome, and the office is located in a great spot downtown with lots of food options nearby. The company has a very interesting product and unique market fit, which they pivoted towards in the last few years. One thing I particularly appreciated was the level of support and resources they provided for me as an intern. They gave me the tools and room to grow and succeed.
Even though most of the company worked remotely, I still had awesome interactions with everyone online. However, I do wish I had been able to meet more people in person.

Great culture but lacked Product direction
* Great culture - People were actually nice and genuine.
* Game night!
* Flexible work
No solid value prop and lack of product-market-fit led to a change in direction too often.

Good place to work!
Lots of autonomy
Great people
Leadership cares about making it a great place to work
Excellent culture
Previously there wasn't enough oversight over product, nor enough focus on what problem we were solving for our user. I believe this has evolved quite a bit since last year, though.

Great Culture
The culture of this company has been strong and inspiring. The leadership team has also put in a lot of heart and effort to cultivate and nurture company values, and the whole team including themselves are striving to living these values every day. The two values that have most impact on me are “love people” and “focus on the impact” - they allow me to grow faster as a professional and as a person.
As a startup, constant changes are inevitable.

Keep doing the good work of caring for your employees and giving them freedom to explore and grow.
Will be great if we could have more collaboration between teams in different locations, which we are working on, but there is a lot more to do there.

Focus on fixing your executive leadership vs having pie in the sky product ideas that you'll never actually build. Executive leadership and sales is completely corrupt -- everyone has great ideas, yet no one knows how to execute. There are not many do-ers, but rather visionary’s all over the place. The company is run by what the sales team wants, or rather demands. If they don't get it, a fit is thrown and there tends to be countless meetings them crying about what they need. Company OKRs... what a joke. They are BUSY WORK from leaders / managers that don't know what else to give their employees besides pointless tasks that check off a silly box. The company as a whole doesn't even meet them and then plasters the importance of them all year long -- how are the employees supposed to satisfy individual OKRs if the company doesn't? Prioritization... there is a new hot item every month, a new sales pitch, a new idea ... it never goes ANYWHERE. The product in itself solves a real problem that exists for marketers, but they need to focus on fixing ALL of the current issues vs building on top the house of cards that's ready to crumble. Additionally, the lack of communication throughout the entire org, decisions are made top level down and promises are made without even talking to the actual do-ers of the company. This is why missed deadlines CONTINUOUSLY happen and nothing is fixed for the customers due to the politics that the executive leadership decides to instill in every conversation. I praise Jeremy, he has high energy and a positive attitude. Unfortunately, I don't think he is aware of some of these issues around him.

You have given us a lot to think about and address. Ideas are vital to keep our business moving forward, even more so if they are audacious and innovative because they challenge us to think of more efficient ways to serve our customers. The sales team is our first line of contact with the customers, their needs are the customers\u2019 needs. As you stated, perhaps there is a better way to tackle requests. All individual OKRs roll up to the company\u2019s OKRs to align everyone to the same mission. This helps us establish a sense of unity and a shared path for success. We agree that prioritization is critical to our mission and it can be difficult to make progress on existing initiatives if we are introducing too many at once. The aim is for us to work collaboratively through the challenges we face. We will be sharing your thoughts with the senior leadership team to ensure visibility and progression.", "responseOriginal": null, "countNotHelpful": 0}]
