The McManus Tale
The McManus legend began more than forty years ago when Anne and Mick McManus took over The Green Man in St James, Northampton, later known as the Thomas A Becket. Its popularity grew, as McManus acquired more pubs. In 1989 their son, Gary, took over and the business continued to go from strength to strength.
Since then, Gary and his brother Paul have continued to take on and develop existing new pub concepts. In true McManus style, the team always remember to have a little fun along the way
McManus brings you the very best of British Pubs in South East England. Our pubs are bursting with character, real ale and great pub food. Mix that with sports coverage, family entertainment and a dash of fun and you’ve found the perfect drinking partner! It’s no wonder that other publicans are quaking in their cellars! We’ve listened to what our customers want and created a range of different real pub experiences for every taste.
Our 30 years of experience has allowed us to create a very successful chain of pubs and bars. Our strap line ‘Real Pubs for Real People’ really does reflect our philosophy. We believe that catering for all tastes is the key to success and that’s why we offer a variety of funs bars, British pubs, traditional country inns and public houses. We also make sure that there is plenty on offer from pub lunches to pub quiz nights. After all, variety is the spice of life!
