No job security - especially in the marketing team. Group layoffs are common.
I left my secure job for this position 5 months ago, and was laid off along with the entire content team. The management said that they were restructuring and our roles weren't needed anymore, although many of us in the team have marketing agency experience, with background in all aspects of digital marketing. Which means our roles could have been reconstructed with us and we had the skills and background to perform different jobs within marketing. Not to my surprise, they are now posting new roles that are very similar with ours.
I should also mention that they laid off 6 women, 5 POCs. Sadly, I can't be sure if race and gender played a part in this.
I've talked to an employee that's been employed there a long time and found out that whenever there's a new director in marketing - they want their own team and do a clean house!
This person also said that the marketing directors apparently have a track record of staying around 1 year at the company - so they end up firing the team and when they can't deliver their promises, they quit. So group layoffs are common in the marketing team!! Also they laid us off all over a Zoom group call. Not to mention the email from HR was generic, we compared it all together. The emails could have been customized, I mean come on...
Do not leave your secure marketing job for this role! You will be disappointed!
My red flag number one was me realizing on my first day that the marketing team didn't have anybody that's been employed there for over 10 months at the time I started. Except for my manager. This is a 10 year company so that should give you a good idea of the company culture.

All pros come from the friendly employees within the department and the friendly folks at HR, who seem to care to help whenever there is a problem or an issue that you may be encountering.
Monthly pizza party is a plus

Toxic environment in terms of management not providing help, multiple terminations within the span of 6 months, insufficient feedback, and dumping workload past the 3-month probation period leaving you to work after hours and on weekends. The micro-management is fine because it is a small software company so I expect nothing less. The environment created by management, who have a big ego is set from the get-go since being a new hire, only to see you fail as an individual as if they have something to prove, rather than showing the ropes to succeed within the role.

Stop hiring multiple people, only to waste everyone's time realizing they are not fit for the role after a couple of months down the line. During my time I have seen multiple people get terminated because management failed at their job to hire correctly for the role.
Set correct expectations for a junior role, especially with the work ethic used by the managers of trial & error.

Working at Method has been one of the most challenging and emotionally draining experiences of my professional career. The toxic culture within the company has made it nearly impossible to thrive or find any sense of fulfillment in my role.
The atmosphere in the office was tense and oppressive, with constant gossip, backstabbing, and power struggles among employees. Instead of fostering collaboration and teamwork, the culture seemed to encourage competition and sabotage.
Management only exacerbated the toxic environment. Micromanagement was the norm, with supervisors breathing down our necks and scrutinizing every aspect of our work. Feedback was rarely constructive and often delivered in a demeaning and demoralizing manner,
The lack of support for employee well-being was particularly concerning. seeking help or accommodations was viewed as a sign of weakness. Instead of offering resources and support, management swept these issues under the rug, further perpetuating the toxic cycle.
