private:ministrybrands https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1099105 Apr 10th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Ministry Brands Mobile Applications Developer Lenoir City, TN A Dying Company, Can it be Reborn? The teams were comprised of likable professionals. The hybrid / remote work schedule is nice, in theory. Some of the technical fundamentals (were) sound. There is no joy to be found here, not through professional accomplishment or fellowship. This organization has been reduced to a carcass, slowly consumed by (multiple) private equity carrion feeders and some degree of systematic management failure. Ministry Brands is a company without ideas and innovation, they cannibalized smaller church-focused software companies on an uncontrolled spending spree, promising resources and delivering chaos and ruin for customers and staff alike. Buried in technical debt with endless cycles of consolidation, they failed to meet changing market forces and failed to meet customer opportunities. As an employee, you cannot form effective work connections because teams are arbitrarily shuffled so frequently that unit cohesion cannot be maintained. The hybrid or remote work schedule does not yield productivity benefits because your calendar will stay full with sometimes hilariously ineffective meetings. Take this fundamentally broken arrangement and introduce the many challenges of offshore outsourcing and you are left with a business school case study on how to lose a Billion dollars of paper equity. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 0.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 1099105 Open I understand that you likely cannot overcome the challenges from short-sighted investor mandates. You can, however, course-correct an ineffective product management team and I'd recommend you re-evaluate the VP and Director level roles here. Some of the analysts and owners are skilled but set up for failure by running too many dissimilar products and tech stacks. Deliverables and productivity are missed because of bottom-end staffing and wrong-sized processes. Their implementation of SAFe is completely inappropriate for the ground-conditions on hand and their proposed implementation of the Spotify Model will fail spectacularly. In the same way that fire teams are focused on singular ordinance delivery objectives, these Squads should be focused on single features. Having a single Squad own 3-6 former companies worth of tasking is foolish and will cost you in lost revenue, security exposure and internal churn. More broadly, your Management:Staff ratio is lopsided. Your teams need to trust, respect each other and buy into your mission. This means stability, clarity and focus. Outsourcing can be an effective means to surge capacity but cannot replace the professional ownership that comes from tenured experience. I wish you the best, I really do. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Open Apr 13th, 2024 06:39PM Apr 13th, 2024 06:39PM Ministry Brands
