Low pay and lead you on with false promises
|
Pay is terrible starting wage is 15$. Quick quack pays their workers a whole dollar more than mister for the same positions. Pay raises are less than 50 cents. Raises are based on managements opinion and completely subjective. Worked my way up to a key holder position at 17$ an hour and was leading close Friday through Monday. It was hard on me as the weekends are the busy days. I didn’t feel like I was being fairly paid for what I was doing as managers make 20+ an hour to do what I was doing. I was told it would be once in a while as needed not four days a week for three months. After constant request and conversations it finally got changed but my drive was drained. They could care less and I was passed up for a manager in training position since “I was no longer committed to company”. I was left with being burnt out and not caring. Waste of time. Unless you are a glutton for making next to nothing and getting lead on your time is spent better anywhere else.

Good benefits, good pay, not so good culture/support
|
Working at mister has gave me a lot of customer service experience and chances to grow within the company within a short time. The benefits for full time employees is awesome as well, and should be followed suit by other businesses. However, the support and culture of mister is hard to work in, as the company as a whole can be inconsistent and it creates a bad culture within the team, with people claiming they’ve heard numerous things from higher ups that contradict policy. This has occurred in multiple stores of mine. If the inconsistencies were fixed, this would be a 5 star company easily, but because of this, the stress is very hard on store level management to keep a good culture going.

This job has taught me a lot of discipline and how to have fun, while working hard. Every day that I come in, I learn at least five new things. I get to have new conversations with customers and then I get to turn around a shovel the trench out with my team. This job has shown me what it looks like to be a leader and not just a manager. Poorly run, not a healthy culture, expected only work in your life, no balance, hardest part was standing in 115 degree heat on asphalt not allowed to have a water bottle out side with you and you couldn’t sit in down unless using the restroom. Culture is toxic based on favoritism and there was nothing enjoyable about this job.
