After I took the job, I found out the supervisor was about to retire, and had hired me over the objection of her superiors. No one was interested in foreign language. Lots of free time. Job was a total dead end. Salary was very inadequate for area. 0.0 0.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 Jan 27th, 2021 09:37AM Mar 20th, 2021 03:55PM National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
private:nationalgeospatial-intelligenceagencynga https://www.indeed.com/cmp/national-geospatial--intelligence-agency/reviews Jul 22nd, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Executive Assistant St. Louis, MO USA NGA is a Pretty Good Place to Work I worked almost 30 years under five different presidential administrations. For the most part, I enjoyed my many jobs there. However, when I left in 2018, there were some rather big issues. I worked in Diversity & Inclusion and from late autumn of 2016, I knew my ultimate boss (POTUS) didn't trust the people in my agency and thought very little of my specific job. NGA already had some issues with inclusiveness and harassment, but after he won the election, it seemed as if things just started getting out of hand. The people that I worked with were wonderful and all wanted to make a difference in the agency's culture. My supervisor was absolutely awesome! I would be happy to work for him anywhere. But, I felt as if I needed to leave for political and personal reasons. I imagine it will be better when the 46th president takes office. My co-workers and boss were AMAZING!, Most offices have great work/life balance. Current Commander in Chief's distrust of intelligence officers, His narcissism and his distaste for treating ALL people with respect. 0.0 0.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 5.0 3.0 Jan 27th, 2021 09:37AM Mar 20th, 2021 03:59PM National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
private:nationalgeospatial-intelligenceagencynga https://www.indeed.com/cmp/national-geospatial--intelligence-agency/reviews Jun 10th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Branch Chief Springfield, VA USA Great Career Choice! I joined NGA a handful of few years ago, and it's still the best career decision I've ever made. For starter's it's led by a great Vice Admiral and leader in Director Sharp. It's also a federal government job, so it has all the great tangible and intangible benefits that come with it (plus a few more that aren't offered to all agencies!). I love the mission and how we support the national security effort; it makes a difference knowing that I'm doing my part in something bigger than myself. The biggest reason why I joined NGA is to get better work-life balance than the private sector offers, and that has proven to be a good decision for me, my physical and mental health, and my family. Lastly, I love the career development options and upward mobility. If you perform well, you'll advance. It took me a little longer than I had hoped, but I've already received one big promotion in my time with NGA.
