Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation (NW Parkinson’s) is the lifeline of HOPE that guarantees no one walks the Parkinson’s journey alone.
NW Parkinson’s transforms the way people live with Parkinson’s in Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana through community connections, awareness, and advocacy. We are an independent, grassroots organization that listens to our communities.
We connect the estimated 100,000 people impacted by Parkinson’s in the Northwest to critical healthcare, technology, education, and support. Our staff is committed to partnering with all people affected by Parkinson’s, including those living with the diagnosis, care partners, family, friends, and service providers. We find solutions to the challenges created by Parkinson’s for the whole family.
Every gift, every donation to NW Parkinson’s stays right here in the Northwest. We continue to build significant alliances that facilitate increased access to care, information, and support, so no one walks the Parkinson’s journey alone.
Our programs and services include:
Navigating your life with Parkinson’s - one-on-one care consultations with Master’s level Social Workers
HOPE Kits – geographically-tailored resources for the newly diagnosed
Training and assistance for support group leaders
Educational HOPE Conferences® and Resource Days tailored to local communities
The Weekly email newsletter
Online programming – Mindfulness, yoga & education

The Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation (NWPF) is the only independent regional Parkinson's organization serving the entire Northwest region. NWPF aims to establish optimal quality of life for the Northwest Parkinson's community through awareness, education, advocacy and care.
NWPF was founded in 1998 with the vision of helping people with Parkinson’s & their caregivers live their best with Parkinson’s today, anticipating the cure tomorrow. NWPF achieves its mission by supporting specialty care, producing & distributing free educational & support resources, raising awareness & developing self-care tools that help improve quality of life for people with Parkinson’s, their families & caregivers.
Since its beginning NWPF has played a vital role in supporting the Northwest Parkinson’s community. NWPF’s strong partnership with Evergreen Healthcare led to the establishment of the Booth Gardner Parkinson’s Care Center in 2001. The Center has grown into a state-of-the-art neurological care center.
NWPF is a founding member of the Alliance of Independent Regional Parkinson Organizations (AIRPO) that came together in 2014. NWPF joins four other founding organizations from across the United States & are supported by the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. NWPF is a founding member of AIRPO because we believe that by working together, we can better leverage the unique expertise that each organization has. This will enrich our program offerings & allow us to better serve the Northwest Parkinson's community.
NWPF plays a vital role in helping people with Parkinson’s live meaningfully with the disease. The information that the Foundation provides gives patients & their families the tools they need to find quality medical care, better manage their disease & take charge of their daily lives. Our work also extends to healthcare providers & seeks to build awareness among the general public in order to create a continuum of care sensitive & beneficial to the Parkinson’s community.
