xD Analytics (formerly Oral4D) is a startup specializing in clinical data collection and analysis. xD endeavors to harness the potential of structured clinical documentation by exposing its “unlimited dimensions and possibilities” (thus, "xD”), to bring improvements in healthcare and facilitate objective research. We developed our first Computer Assisted Clinical Documentation (“CACD”) application, Ortho4D, in 2014 using a patented technology to capture structured orthodontic treatment information in a visual and interactive manner. This enables a much quicker and accurate input and a more complete comprehension of the patient’s health record, versus today's standard practice of text-based electronic health record (“EHR").
Our application seamlessly captures healthcare records and generates highly structured and granular clinical documentation data. Realizing the potential of our rich data assets, we expanded our focus on providing clinical intelligence for multiple dental market stakeholders.
A new healthcare data analytics company, xD Analytics aims to make dental practices efficient and effective. We are developing our first data product, Doctor Dashboard, which will give orthodontists insight into their practices by using their own data, allowing them to see how they rank and compare to other practices within the xD Analytics data set. Working alongside the data product, we are in the process of rewriting the current CACD application, Ortho4D, which will be optimized with data and scalability in mind.
xD’s clinical data also supports data-driven clinical trials (“DDCT”). It has the ability to represent real-life clinical actions collected from the clinician’s interaction with the patient. xD is currently conducting a DDCT to correlate user actions (treatment details) to outcomes (tooth movement), leveraging its unique data set for generating clinical insights. This will add to the body of evidence in orthodontics and will contribute to the development of a predictive model of orthodontic tooth movement. This is the ultimate objective of xD’s founder, Dr. Hisham Badawi.
