good first job for teens and young adults. gained customer service experience and teaches you how to stay calm in stressful situations. They push “we are a family” too hard though and expect the employees to act like it but management doesn’t really reciprocate.

Helpful until it wasn't

My position at Ace Hardware was newer and experimental. The owners had two locations and didn't have enough attention to give for a particular task...thus they made a new position. I will say everyone was welcome and nice and even the owners are great but...they wear themselves too thin with what they do at the stores that they don't take the time to ensure proper training of new systems to newer people. Very much not a corporate vibe. They are successful so they got something going on...but they very much play it by ear. They use people by the skills they offer and some have been very successful at the store. Others have left. I'm being vague purposefully but really...so were they.

Honestly not a bad gig, the pay was pretty low but its been a while since I worked there and I was in High School then. The work was never anything too hard but workingin customer service you always have characters that make the job harder.
