This is a part time chat and email job. Training is all talk and fluff like they’re trying to sell you a used car. They make it look easy and don’t prepare you. You are told it’s only 2 chats at once, and 3 when it’s really busy (which is all of the time). There is a snooze flow to follow for inactive chats which keeps the conversation in your inbox for up to 15 minutes. This results in you having well over 3 chats if they return from inactive status. You are told from the beginning if you fail to meet the high standards of 8 interactions per hour, they will first give you a warning, second you’ll be on a performance plan, and third you’ll be fired. This is based on a ranking system each month and anyone in low 10% is written up. Quality stands are also over the top with the expectation of building a connection and not using the word sorry. You’ll also have one email in your inbox at a time and you’ll be required to respond to that as well which is quite difficult when you have chats going too. This job would be better and more manageable if it weren’t for these issues. CEO is aware of this, this is a constant conversation that's becoming futile. -This company appears to be Pro-Women, but really only caters to one type of woman (cis, white). -When words come out of CEO's mouth it SEEMS nice and it SOUNDS great but really, is just a bunch of gaslit fluff. -They just laid off 10% of the company and claimed that cutting costs had nothing to do with it when they're desperately trying to break even. No clear or realistic expectations from management. Unrealistic deadlines, constant creative overhauls. No understanding of brand from upper management while also being micromanaged on what that is. Constantly being questioned on your skill level of your job and then disregarded on the job you were hired to do. Constant layoffs and the company trying to have a facade that they are doing well. You get to have access to a rental closet that hasn’t been updated since 2019. There's a long list, so brace yourself. Rent The Runway may appear to be just another retail startup attempting to embrace sustainability, promote DEI initiatives, and provide personalized service to customers, but that's where you're mistaken. The workload is INHUMANE, with a measly hourly wage starting at $16 and maxing out at $18. In comparison to other companies that offer the same jobs and responsibilities, the pay is higher, and the workload is not overwhelming. At RTR, you can be guaranteed a panic attack mid-shift because your team lead (another term for manager) fails to provide adequate support. Let's not overlook the "put a bandaid on it" solutions we offer to customers with damaged and DIRTY CLOTHES. The issues are merely patched up, not solved. The managers are standoffish and oppose assisting in your growth. The growth opportunities available are nonexistent. There's a lack of transparency in everything. The norm is to exhaust yourself and be rewarded with nothing. Have you tried offering feedback internally? Upper management dismisses critical feedback from the CX team, taking no responsibility for the prevailing issues and the suggestions made to improve both the agent and customer experience, ensuring it is positive and healthy. They offer channels for anonymous feedback, but it invariably falls on deaf ears, and nothing ever changes. It’s time you acknowledge the effort your employees put in and compensate them accordingly. Change the workload. The current expectations are unrealistic and only serve to burn out your staff. Adjust the metrics standards and INVEST IN TRAINING AGENTS PROPERLY. You’ll notice a significant drop in the hourly employee churn rate if this is implemented. Offer full benefits. Everyone on CX team deserves sick leave, paid time off, vacation time, and parental leave on par with what our CEO receives. We are all human and deserve equal treatment and respect. And a critical point—stop adding more to your SMS agents' plates! They are not just filling seats. SMS agents are the backbone of your operation, often doing the heavy lifting you underestimate. Recognize their value, understand the complexity of their work, and start investing genuine effort into supporting your employees.
