Rolling Readers Space Coast, Inc., is a non-profit volunteer literacy organization, founded in 1997, that serves economically disadvantaged children in Brevard County.
Rolling Readers is a unique, grassroots organization that relies on volunteers to make a difference in the lives of children.
We invite you to become a Rolling Reader by volunteering. Free training sessions and materials are provided for all three of our in-school reading programs:
READ ALOUD: A trained volunteer reads aloud to a class, one day per week for 20-30 minutes.
READING SKILLS: A trained volunteer reads with four students individually for 15-20 minutes each, one day per week, for a total fo 1.5 hours.
G.R.I.P.: The Grade-level Reading Intervention Program targets 8-9 year old students. Trained tutors meet with small groups of students for 45 minutes once per week in a workshop setting, using fun, hands-on activities to reinforce reading skills.
Our mission is to inspire children's love of reading, touch their imaginations and creativity through books and build a community of successful, life-long readers by providing trained, committed volunteers and new books to children.
