Like all great ideas, Smudge Publishing was once just a dream. Conjured up by our fearless Editor-in-Chief, Jonette George, and her two daughters, Daniele and Kaitlyn Wilton, the mission was simple: to create beautiful books that celebrate and showcase the abundance of produce, wine and culinary talent in Australia.
Now eight years on, Smudge Publishing is a collective of passionate individuals who strive to constantly unearth the best of the best in all things food-related.
The collection includes over 20 titles, including the award-winning Flavours of Urban Melbourne (Winner: International Cookbook at the Best Book Awards), Flavours of South Australia (Winner: Regional Cookbook at the Best Book Awards) and Flavours of Bali (Winner: Travel: Guides & Essays)
The series has expanded internationally with the launch of Flavours of Bali, and Flavours of Hong Kong and Flavours of Singapore in the works. The latest release is Flavours of Sydney Edition 2, covering the finest restaurants, cafes and bars. Not ones to sit still, Smudge Publishing is also translating its coffee content into Mandarin for the Chinese market.
Smudge titles are available throughout Australia and Indonesia at all leading bookstores, the Smudge Eats online bookshop and through most of the featured venues.
In 2017, Smudge Publishing will celebrate the third year online with Smudge Eats, which includes a directory of the best places to eat and drink in Australia and beyond. The Smudge Eats brand includes an active online community through social media channels. Sign up for the latest in food, wine and coffee by heading to the website.
