Incredibly fun fast paced work evironment

Stack Overflow believes in self driven and motivated individuals. It is a great place to work, as long as workers are self starters and productive. There is no managemet hovering over you to micromanage you. They expect results without having to hound you for it.

Fun workplace, no leadership, ruinous management, and mediocre work done

The Bozo Effect is prevalent here and you can clearly see managers promoted from seniority (and not for demonstrated success or leadership abilities). Diversity and inclusion is a priority they're working on more regularly now, both with internal and external issues. Their ambitious growth goals may be heading to a concerning space if they don't align and take care of their employees, customers, and community better.
Pros:
- great perks and fun feeling of a nice Silicon Valley startup in NYC
- convenient health concierge offered (Eden Health) on top of full medical coverage
- free lunch
- free snacks
- unlimited coffee to keep you working
- unlimited wine/beer to keep you distracted from how bad work gets
Cons:
- no leadership presence for some time now
- no effective management (the wrong people keep getting promoted and they hire weaker new managers)
- diversity groups are important, yet don't feel welcoming nor inclusive
- most fear receiving PIPs and termination without warning

Amazing benefits, awesome staff of outgoing indivduals, and an open door policy that is truly open door!
Typical sales job, losts of cold calling with a goal of setting a sales presentation via the phone or Skype. Many reps required long hours in order to hit their sales goal.
Management was somewhat out of touch regarding the products, as most managers have never actually sold the product.

I ask and answer questions from other developers online

As a user of Stack Overflow I find it flexible, I can ask or answer questions anytime I want to, but I always make sure that I respond as quick as possible as I respect the time of other people.
I have learnt that its not only coding that is important,but problem solving is what matters the most. The users I interact with are always keen to help and are good at what they do.
Honestly I can say the most thing I enjoy the most is problem solving, I know that if I can be able to solve a problem, learning a programming language to arrive at that solution will be much easier.
