Though it got pretty crowded in the workplace it was still fairly clean and organized.
Communication wasn't the best. They do feed you everyday during the peak season however Leadership plays explicit music about genitals/genitalia on speaker extremely loud on a day to day basis. You can't put two headphones in to block out the disgusting music they play either.

Management
In general, managers at StockX super helpful and informative. I don’t think I ever had better managers. Each one I met was great all the way from my direct supervisor to the director of my department.

Start up company with no company culture
|
Working at StockX is like working drinking out of a fire hydrant. Engineering had flexible working hours, however there were is no company culture. Engineers are often burnt and leadership's response is "so am I". The start-up word is thrown around often however there is now bureaucratic red tape all over and a lack of transparency. Overall the company lacks ethical leadership, the brand is cool but with no company culture the employee experience is not great. Growing in one's career there is not possible, leadership prefers to hire people externally.

Terrible place to work- Don't waste your time and energy
|
Typical day at work starts at 8am SHARP. 1 min past 8am means automatic write up. Pretty much everyone is a warehouse worker everyone has to cut boxes and help pack, everyone except management of course. Not one lead was ever taught how to lead by example, should show you exactly how upper management and the CEO are like. If management doesn't like you, you will be picked on. this is not a professional company to work for. You would think the workplace culture would be cool, since we do work with sneakers and streetwear. But no the warehouse is run like amazon. Very militant and management uses a lot of intimidation tactics. I'm sure who ever is reading this is asking themselves, what about HR? Well HR is just as bad. They do not help the staff even though team members complain. They always side with management. It is a huge conflict of interest since HR sits next to management in the same office every single day of every single week of every single month. And of course they are best friends. Oh and don't be surprised if management snaps a photo of you to report you. You aren't guaranteed 40 hours of week, if it's slow they will send you home without pay. There's been weeks i've only gotten 20-25 hours. It's ridiculous. The company does not care about its hourly team members. Thats why they haven't shut down the Jersey warehouse even after a few team members came up positive for corona virus. The pay is ok $18/hr. But no room for growth or advancement. So not really able to have a career here unless you wanna be broke. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting some of cool people. Seeing sneakers everyday got old and boring.

Employees know they can create value & drive growth for the company but because of poor leadership, micromanagement, etc employee ideas, processes, plans, systems etc. get lost with said leader’s incompetence. Everything is manual. Company can't even provide Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
Non-existent Human Resources, no employee processes, horrible communication, lawsuit waiting to happen, complete chaos, not one team does great things. Allowed for data breach that caused a class action lawsuit.

workplace was productive and fun and had many perks

A typical work day for me was, clocking in on time, making sure everything that needed to be done at the beginning of the day is done. Doing a morning huddle making sure everyone has energy. the most enjoyable part of the day is the morning time because everyone is waking up and trying to prepare for the day. the hardest part of the job was being on my feet all day and standing in one spot. the management could have been a little better but it wasn't bad at all. i learned many things from the job, patience, how to be a leader, never put yourself in a position that may look bad to others.
