Our team has deep expertise across travel, finance and technology – with previous experience at Cambridge University, Harvard and BCG.

About the Role

Do you have plans to go to travelling to one (or more!) of the countries listed here? We're looking for roaming travellers with good people skills to do some work on the road for us.

We help tourist businesses to accept card payments (think of all those ‘Cash Only’ signs), and we’re looking for people to help us get the word out. Our Nomads are travelling around the world, spreading the work about Tab as they go.

You'll need to be able to work around 20 hours a week, so you'll still have plenty of free time to explore while you're on the road. If you're going to Latin America you need to be able to speak Spanish to a high level.

Your time will be spent talking to business managers and owners in person about Tab - and helping them to apply and start using their Tab account. If you haven't started your trip, you need to be starting before the end of January. Do you know all the tourist businesses in your local area? We're looking for in-country ambassadors to help us spread the word and get more businesses using Tab.

As a Tab Ambassador, you'll be able to use your current network to sign up people you already know to Tab. You might need to help them get set up, and you'll report back to us on interesting cases.

You'll get the most out of the Ambassador programme if you're also confident finding and approaching people and businesses that you don't know. You can use your imagination to get as many people as possible involved - from coffee shop drop in sessions to representing us at local festivals, you know your industry best and we're happy to let you take the lead.

You'll need to have a great understanding of your local tourism industry and some good ideas of how to get more people using Tab, as well as being great at talking to strangers and helping people when they have questions.

We'll pay you based on the transaction volume of the businesses you sign up. This is a part time role with no set hours, so you can easily be a Tab Ambassador alongside your day to day job.

We've designed our application questions to make sure you'd enjoy being an Ambassador. If you can't answer the questions, this might not be the role for you - but don't worry, we're likely to run other schemes in the future.

We'll train you to use Tab, so don't worry if you're not already familiar with the platform. However, if you've already used Tab - as a merchant or a traveller - then let us know!

If you think you have the network we're looking for then we'd love to hear from you.

About You

You're based in one of the countries listed on our website here: https://business.tab.travel/index.html#global-coverage

You'll know a lot of people in your local tourism industry - and think you can find more

You're good at talking to people and understanding what they need

You're good at explaining things to people and helping them understand new things

Jan 14th, 2020 04:06PM Jan 14th, 2020 04:06PM Tab

Our payment platform helps tourism businesses to save on payment costs and manage and take bookings more flexibly – while spending less time on admin and more time with their customers.

We work with hotels (from budget to boutique) and activity operators like dive schools, surf lodges and yoga retreats. Our initial focus is emerging destinations, in countries where payment and booking systems are a significant challenge.

Our platform is trusted hundreds of tourism businesses around the world, and we've helped hundreds of thousands of travellers to pay in over 100 currencies.

We're working on ambitious plans to revolutionise the experience of independent travel – by helping travellers make the most of their precious time abroad, and giving local tourism operators the vital tools they need to run their business.

We're primarily based in London, and we're backed by Y Combinator (the investors behind Airbnb, Dropbox and Stripe).

We’ll give lots of training and advice on how to explain Tab, and you’ll develop your own style as you talk to more businesses. You’ll have the freedom to work out what works best for you in each place you visit.

You'll need to be confident talking to strangers, and able to work independently in lots of different environments – from party hostels to boutique hotels. Ideally, you'll already have experience of working or travelling in emerging destinations, and you'll be interested in how tourist businesses operate.

You’ll earn around $500/month, plus $100 for each business you visit that starts using Tab, with no cap. We expect most nomads to earn over $1,000/month, based on 20 hours/week. So you’ll have the opportunity to travel further and to do more as you go along!

You'll need to be travelling in Tab target countries for at least three months. If you haven't started your trip, you need to be starting before the end of January. If your trip starts later, just check back again nearer the time!

This is a unique role and you may have questions – so please submit an application, and you can include any questions on the application form.

About You

You're planning on heading on your trip before the end of January - and you're planning on being in Tab target countries for at least three months.

You're happy to dedicate around 20 hours a week to this role while you're away.

You’re comfortable with technology and happy to use new apps and products.

You're (nearly) fluent in Spanish - written and spoken (if applying to go to LATAM).*

You're empathetic and good at helping people when they don't understand something.

You have experience in sales or are interested in sales.

You're good at working autonomously.

*You just need to be confident talking to people both in person and on the phone.

Jan 14th, 2020 04:06PM Jan 14th, 2020 04:06PM Tab
