Great perks. I got some free shoes during my time and was also allowed access to hyped trainers aswell. Most of the teams relatively harmless and we have a good time. Over the past few years this company has been run to the ground thanks to its management team. The CEO, CMO and CTO do not know what they're doing. I get that times are hard at the moment but the way recent reduncies have been handled is laughable. Also, this entire company that's based in London has no people of colour. How is that possible? Great work environment, work that is challenging and fulfilling and you get to do it alongside great colleagues. The company is small to medium sized which means there are some great opportunities to grow. If they do not like you, you will be gone. - They fire people all the time and very quickly, especially POC (absolute joke that diversity is rated as 5 stars on here lol there is barely anyone that is POC) - The CEO tends to boast on LinkedIn about his upbringing and hard work but he is legit a silver spooned guy who went to private school. - The CTO is very two faced, says one thing to you privately but behind your back, lets just say he won't have your back. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 4880566 Open Sort it out i guess. You get a lot of attention and you get the help that you need. But this ends very quickly and you’re sort of left to your own devices. Some people like this, some people don’t. While the majority of my colleagues are amazing, there’s no denying that the team LOVES gossip. There’s so much background drama with everything, and sometimes I feel like some people are outright bullied. Even the “nicest” people will surprise you. As soon as you step out of the office all you’ll hear is gossip, so if you don’t like to be talked about then this company simply isn’t for you. This isn’t helped by the terrible management team who fuel this office politics. Senior management are basically a bunch of all white, privileged males who have no problem stirring things up. They also have horrible hiring and firing practices. They have no problem letting go of a ton of people then hire some of the most questionable people simply because they seem like a good “culture fit”. (It certainly helps if you’re in your early 20s, female, and you’re blonde). If we have issues we’re expected to just bring it up with senior leadership, and if the CEO disagrees with you then you’ll just be let go. This has happened many times in the pass. Secondly, the team also has no black people. We are literally in the middle of London and I find this hard to believe. Maybe it doesn’t fit with TSS’s questionable “culture fit”? If so then that is a huge issue that needs to be addressed. Finally, salary has been a real issue over the past couple of weeks and this needs to be looked into. The people (excluding management) are awesome The fact it’s a sneaker company is quite cool Poor company culture. In fact, I would say the CEO does a great job in sugar coating how his company is run especially when he does his cringey posts on LinkedIn. Always goes on about how he started this company from nothing blablabla but little does he know, the whole company is aware he’s a silver spooned private school kid in a mans body who milks the attention online with click bait posts. The CTO is a bigger joke, how do you (the CEO) promote a mid-level mobile developer to being a CTO of a multimillion pound company, biggest d-riding tool I have met that CTO and very two faced. Now to the seriously bad stuff, the fact that this company has no diversity. Throughout my time working there, they would hire and fire POC but interestingly the non-POC have always stayed there with no repercussions. The firing culture is crazy at Sole. Just read the reviews, they love to fire people for no reason. Some people have challenged them and won for unfair dismissal. If you want a non-POC environment with an insecure boss that you can kiss up to, then this is your place to be! If you are a POC, don’t bother. You’ll think, how? Sneaker culture, hip hop culture, surely there’s POC? Yeh there is, about 4 out of 50 people, and that’s to make up numbers, trust me! This might be negative but I hope this company gets taken over by a third party and new management takes this company to a new level, the current ones need to go. Personal development Have been with sole supplier for years and over the course of this time, they offered little support for personal development. I had mentioned to management my personal goals on how I had liked to help develop the company and learn new skills but that was talked about but subsequently pushed aside. Management Management was non existent, seems like there is a lot of personal dramas between the higher ups and they like to bring their personal problems to the work place. There is lack of diversity for a city like London I can see they are removing the people of colour very blatantly. Motivation I stayed here for longer than I should have, motivation from the company was low, when you reach milestones or helps achieve the goals they set, they just set higher goals the next time and there will not be a single word of encouragement. Salary Salary is unacceptable for London and for what we are tasked to do. I was promoted once here but before then, i was given more and more tasks with no pay rise so I can cover for the people they have fired. private:thesolesupplier https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=4880566 May 11th, 2023 12:00AM Open Open The Sole Supplier London, England Great place to work and under appreciated -the majority of my colleagues are incredible, passionate about driving results and really really care about the company and their ability to make a difference, which is why when reading some of these recent reviews it is disappointing to see that people are considering 'looking for other jobs which pay better', and yet in reality I'm unsure how realistic this would be - every single person in the company is incredibly talented in their own way and it would be a shame for anybody to be feeling like this about salary, when salary is very competitive across the board. -convenient office location -good level of transparency to recent changes within the company and kept up to date on weekly calls -choice of perks with juno rewards meaning that we can pick what we want to spend our monthly perks budget on, alongside regular footwear giveaways -I am always provided with alot of freedom within my role. so long as I am working towards one of the OKRs set, I can choose how I go about achieving them -we are easily able to claim TOIL if we work overtime and we have freelancers to support on out of hours work -this is a very results driven business, which isn't a con for me as it is fast paced and rewarding which I'd much prefer vs sitting at a desk and doing nothing all day, but it won't suit everybody (but everybody is different and that's fine!) -there is alot of unnecessary moaning within teams and people don't realise how good they have it in this company vs other startups of the same size. this creates a sense of negativity and it can be really really draining to listen to everyday. the large majority of people seem happy, but I find the business and our perks are under appreciated by some. my friends can't believe how good we have it -progression is often questioned by some members of staff, but progression is hard to predict in any start up environment and people don't realise this. as the business grows, individuals grow with it and nobody is left behind if you have the passion to grow with the business 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4880566 Open -more training opportunities for newer members of mid-level management, who missed out on the first few rounds of training 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 4.0 Open May 11th, 2023 07:03PM May 11th, 2023 07:03PM The Sole Supplier

I’ve made some amazing amazing friends here that I cherish on the daily. I can only describe the management of TSS as poor. Our boss wants you to believe that this is an awesome place to work with a very high retention rate but what he doesn’t disclose in his Linkedin sermons is his awful “managing” style, preferential treatment & firing employees just because he doesn’t like you. But if you can somehow get into his inner circle this will be the best job you’ll ever have cause he’ll just agree with everything you say. I’ve seen this many times first hand. We have so much fun together after work! We used to have great socials and get lots of freebies, but thats getting less and less. Senior management is aweful. Progression is reserved to a few favourites who keep getting new roles even when they don't have the knowledge and others go nowhere and even fear being fired. Zero work life balance with long hours and the expectation to be available all the time. Pay is really bad too and there are almost no benefits. And don't get me started on diversity because there is none.
