There were many opportunities to learn new skills and there was good career development. The management wanted to see you get better and helped with communication skills and constructive one on ones to talk about areas of opportunity. Overall a great organization with the drive to see the best in you. The only bad was the pay but for customer service that's pretty typical, the benefits made up a little bit, but cost of living was way above the pay grade. Considered non-essential business the company laid off more than half the organization due to Covid-19. All work from March 2020 was done remotely. Up to date computer systems, nice desks, comfortable chairs, great staff and co-workers, fun environment, snack bar, and opportunities for advancement. Get this, they laid off more than half the company. Since there are less employees, these employees are to reach an unreasonable goal of contacts per hour. They preach mental health all day long, but no one can get any requested days off because we're so short staffed. Underpaid, untrained. Lots of processes change and no training to confirm change. What was once a bustling company with great value and culture, has slowly turned into another company that cares very little for its employees. No room to move up in the company, massive layoffs, and loss of perks has plagued ThirdLove as of late. It's becoming pretty obvious it's no longer about doing right for the employees or customers and is all about money. If something doesn't change, ThirdLove is going to lose the rest of it's great employees to the competitors who pay better and treat their employees the way they deserve. Wouldn't surprise me if the brand itself went under after all the wrong moves they are making recently. But when it came down to it all they care about is their own gain and they did not care about treating their employees fairly no matter how much time and hard work you’ve given to the company. This was evident with many of their choices such as the ever growing list of requirements for the stylists that weren’t even possible (it was incredibly hard to try and defend their decisions when stylists would often come to me stressed and overworked), micromanaging their employees to where you could get an occurrence for using the bathroom (I was in a meeting where a manager was scared she would have to write up a pregnant stylist for this), letting go SF teammates that worked with the Chico office for no reason, and most recently doing a “restructuring of the company” forcing support teammates that worked hard for this company for years to move up to either get demoted down to a fit stylist (starting) position or quit though no one did anything wrong. This was incredibly demeaning and insulting after years of working here. I didn't look forward to coming into work simply because the other employees were very rude and aggressive. Customers were also very stupid even though the website is very easy to maneuver. I also had customers who would chat in, email in and even call in asking very inappropriate questions that often times made me feel uncomfortable. When you would ask other employees for help, they wouldn't respond for 5-10+ minutes and leave you hanging. The kitchen is never stocked for the Am employees or even the people who work on weekends. Managers play favorites and take advantage of not being watched 24/7, they do a lot of gossiping, online shopping and other things. You can't go to higher management because you'll just be fired for complaining. The management here sucks and we don’t receive half the things the SF office does. When I started at ThirdLove, I loved my job. I worked with all of my friends, I was able to work at my own pace, we got Christmas Eve and Christmas day off, free snacks, and morale was probably the highest I've ever seen in a workplace. (Not a very high bar, but, you know.) Granted, there were issues. Upper management purposefully kept themselves as far removed as possible, hours weren't great, the customers are mostly middle-aged, ultra-entitled white women, and there is a company culture of "positivity" that comes off as disingenuous and saccharine. When ThirdLove decided to change software, and the goal of management moved from "making sure things are running smoothly," to "meticulously micromanage our underappreciated and overworked staff, while remaining unbelievably vague about what it is we even do and avoiding eye contact with lessers." People starting quitting left and right, and there is a very high amount of stress in the office, coupled with a thick air of resentment. Morale is incredibly low and instead of making policy changes, management chose a few of the least outspoken people in the office to hold a Q&A, but did not actually change anything. Managers absolutely will not help you with anything you request from them unless you are their friend. Your numbers can be through the roof but unless you spend your days brown-nosing and faking over-the-top enthusiasm, you will go nowhere, and get nothing. Recently, ThirdLove stopped promoting internally as well. Their reasoning? No one in the office is qualified. Qualified for what, exactly? No one seems to know. I don't understand how we're supposed to maintain morale when any opportunity we have is stripped from us and no positive changes are made. To add fuel to fire, many Fit Stylists were voicing their concerns to our Support Specialists (who are not technically management and are twice as overworked, but still above us) when management suddenly decided that they didn't want to look like "villains" and Support Specialists look like "heroes," and barred them from submitting feedback on our behalf. So now, we literally have no way of voicing concern without fearing backlash and retaliation from management, which is a very real thing in the office at ThirdLove. (Recently an email was sent out, essentially blaming Fit Stylists for our own unhappiness, due to "gossiping.") Every day, people are crying at their desks or in the bathroom and many times, management is callous or indifferent. There is a huge backlog of customers awaiting reply and we are expected to sit and let them rip us apart for $14.00 an hour. And if the customer asks for a manager? The manager will throw you under the bus completely, to make their entitled customers happy at any expense. ThirdLove will cut out it's own heart for it's customers, but will not move a muscle for any of it's "lower" employees. I guess because there are more Fit Stylists than anyone else in the company, we are less deserving than anyone else, right? We have to work holidays, we get paid less, we have 0 flexibility in our schedules, we are beaten like a dead horse over our "statuses," we get write-ups for using the restroom too much, we are WAY understaffed, we have to let the customers berate us, and we are expected to smile about it all. I am considered a "tenured" agent, and I am trained on multiple channels of support, my efficiency is very high, and I am treated with the same disrespect as a new hire who can't tell up from down. Even if I wanted to advance out of my position, I couldn't. If ThirdLove had any care for it's Fit Stylists, it wouldn't throw all of us under the same blanket and beat us all with the same stick. Almost everyone who works here has depression, anxiety, or both. Coincidental? Try being bullied nonstop by middle-aged women for 40 hours a week and get back to me. ThirdLove has absolutely no standard for how it's employees can be treated by customers, and it shows.
