TRAIL’s mission is to build applications that both teach people the basic Internet skills they need and streamline parts of their everyday life whether its finding work, managing health and wellness, understanding personal finance, or serving a number of other life management needs.
There are over 60 million Americans that do not know how to meaningfully use the Internet. Worldwide, that population without Internet literacy skills stands at nearly 6 billion. TRAIL serves Millennials, and Boomers alike as well as both English and Spanish speakers, in an effort to at once address the digital divide and the opportunity gap.
TRAIL’s open learning platform COMPASS leverages powerful data to help community advocates and educators alike empower users. TRAIL is currently developing a suite of lifestyle management applications, rooted in a core digital literacy curriculum and partnered with state, federal and non-profit institutions to provide effective and empowering solutions to social issues. Right now, TRAIL’s first web platform, JobScout, is getting people to work.
To get the next billion people online and back to work, TRAIL’s JobScout is first establishing presence in North America and will then expand to other regions. Beyond JobScout, TRAIL is actively developing HealthScout and is planning and raising seed seed investment for:
• CivicScout
• CollegeScout
• FinanceScout
• EnergyScout
