Vihucas is a family owned winery at Toledo, Spain, committed to the production of fine premium wines.
"45 years ago, my father VIctoriano HUerta CAStro ;-) undertook the tradition of my great grand father of wine making.
Vihucas Winery has gathered up to now, so, three generations of wine makers’ knowhow (My grand mother, as a woman in the early XXth century, was not suppose to even like wine...)
My father restarted the wine making as my mother was the heiress of my other grandfather's vineyards. Theirs was, and still is, a good marriage: love, wine and vineyards, what else!
Since the beginning, my parents grew the vines the best way: with love and care for the plants and the land. All the exploitation is ecological from them (the very early 70s).
When my brother and me become responsible of the business, we had a great challenge ahead, we needed to keep on making a very good wine thinking for a more varied pub and we only produce wines from our own vineyards, so maybe you are lucky enough to get one of our scarce bottles to enjoy of pure Toledo's flavor and scent.
We are very passionate about our wines. That's why we call two of our red wines "Amor de Tinto" -go ahead and look for a translation at google... it will say "Red Love" but in Spanish "Amor de tinto" is much more than a "red" love: it is something that you would write at your arm as a big tattoo to show what you really, really love: fruit, freshness and youth of a Tempranillo... all that put into a bottle and ready to share.
We also like some wines a little bit more serious and mature, like "Vihucas Colección Familiar" and "Finca La Sendilla" both of them samples of the best of our three red varieties: Merlot, Tempranillo and Graciano...
How that does taste? We don't like spoilers, we prefer that you find out by your own, and if you like what you taste, enjoy it and share it. Those are the little pleasures that make life worth it."
