<p><strong>Your mission (should you choose to accept it.)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead a team of highly skilled and geographically dispersed QA engineers for all testing deliverables.</li>
<li>Manage QA functions related to project including planning, test execution, tools, test automation and defect resolutions.</li>
<li>Create shared vision and build/maintain strong relationships with project managers, developers and business analysts.</li>
<li>Provide project and technical insight, including test strategies, traceability documents, systematics test plans and test scripts from requirements and functional designs.</li>
<li>Prepare client-ready QA documentation and status reports.</li>
<li>Communicate directly with clients on QA approach, testing status and client issue resolution.</li>
<li>Define and set processes for test plan creation and ensure that that test plans get reviewed by all stakeholders.</li>
<li>Ensure all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking.</li>
<li>Review test strategies and see that all the various kinds of testing like unit, functional, performance, stress, acceptance etc. are getting covered.</li>
<li>Conduct daily standup meetings and monthly one-on-one reviews with team.</li>
</ul>

<li>BA/BS degree or better in Computer Science or related field.</li>
<li>2-5 years’ experience in software development, test development and/or test execution in a production development environment.</li>
<li>2+ years’ experience in a people management or lead role in an enterprise environment.</li>
<li>Experience with various development and test tools like JMeter, Jenkins, Docker, Python etc.</li>
<li>Experience with Agile development and methodologies.</li>

<p>Instead, we're designing and building Xevo's next-generation technical infrastructure and, along the way, will be standardizing and optimizing our internal platforms across all products and environments. </p>
<p>Our SRE team is:</p>

<li>Diving deep into Docker and Kubernetes for a smoother service lifecycle </li>
<li>Developing infrastructure middleware that makes service telemetry a no-brainer </li>
<li>Automating absolutely everything (rollouts, rollbacks, scaling, you name it) using industry standard tools (Ansible, Terraform, Prometheus, etc...) and, when that doesn't cut it, we're writing our own. </li>
<li>Redefining success at every level then measuring it everywhere we can -- for feedback into our automation loop. </li>

<p>And the beauty of it is, we're still charting our future. If you've always wanted to get in on the ground floor of designing and building the next great infrastructure platform, then this team is for you!</p>
<p>This senior engineering role is a charter member of a quickly growing team. This is a hands on role - but you will also make major design contributions to our future infrastructure. We're looking for someone who understands computer systems inside and out, knows a server from a service, and prefers to solve problems by writing elegant, reusable and maintainable code.</p>

<li>Our infrastructure is based on Kubernetes and AWS; the best candidates have experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like terraform or Cloud Formation</li>
<li>Our storage layers are based on S3, DynamoDB and PostgreSQL hosted in RDS; experience with any NoSQL or SQL database can be easily re-applied to these tools</li>
<li>6+ years of relevant experience in building software and services</li>
<li>Experience in projects involving cross-functional teams and successfully completing complex/large scale projects</li>

<p>We are seeking talented engineers who are comfortable working in an agile, test-driven environment. In this position, you’ll be responsible for writing web services using Go, Kotlin, and Java and the appropriate unit tests to support those applications. Samples of the applications we develop are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Clients for connected displays that integrate with remote data services and mobile devices.</li>
<li>Tools for managing content on in-car displays, mobile devices, and websites.</li>
<li>The remote data services that provides information to the client applications.</li>
<li>Analytics tools that provide feedback on the usage of our applications.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Your mission (should you choose to accept it.) </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and support functional and highly performing Go and JVM (Kotlin, Java) backend services.</li>
<li>Collaborate with front end developers, product owners, UX, QA, etc.</li>
<li>Integrate new code into existing products, provide product enhancements and resolve product defects to meet customer requests or issues.</li>
<li>Participate in peer code reviews for other team members.</li>
<li>Provide input on new and existing solutions.</li>
<li>Write technical specifications, program documentation, and unit test plans for all work performed.</li>
<li>Assist in quality assurance process and customer issue resolution.</li>
<li>Partner with product owners, project architect and other team members to drive high-quality, on-time deliverables.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>So, do you have what it takes? </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>University degree in Computer Science or related field</li>
<li>8+ years total experience</li>
<li>2+ years in web services development and/or 2+ years in distributed message-based applications</li>
<li>1+ years as team leader</li>
<li>Proficiency developing web services using Python, Go, or Java</li>
<li>Proficiency with OLTP databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL</li>
<li>Proficiency with distributed messaging systems like MQTT, Kinesis and Kafka or past experience in ZeroMQ, AMQP, or ActiveMQ.</li>
<li>Experience working with AWS infrastructure, Linux, and Docker.</li>
<li>Familiarity with terraform a plus</li>
<li>Strong understanding of object-oriented programming</li>
<li>Experience writing tests for complex applications</li>
<li>Proven track record of shipping software</li>
<li>Excellent problem solving abilities</li>
<li>Outstanding communication skills technical and non-technical, internal and external, both written and verbal.</li>
<li>Experience with all aspects of Web service architecture.</li>
<li>Experience with tuning, scalability and deployment strategies of high-performance, high-availability Web services.</li>
