Was once a great company, sadly no longer

Wonderful products that really make a difference to patients. Lots of wonderful hard working and dedicated people.

The company has deteriorated over recent years. Previously there was a clear 'work hard and get rewarded' ethic – yes, they were strict and demanded high standards, but the company provided structure - poor values were not tolerated and the benefits were exceptional.
Changes in senior management in recent years have resulted in poor values from the top – the employee care has gone, not just in the withdrawal of benefits, but no thought given to staff wellbeing or worklife balance when making decisions, despite the company being very vocal to the contrary. All decisions are made based on cost, regardless of business and employee impact. High turnover of staff and recruitment freezes / limitations mean existing hard working staff are pushed to breaking point. Those left are under a ridiculous amount of pressure to deliver on poor salaries, and there is a horrible blame culture when things inevitably go wrong. Those exhibiting poor values and unacceptable behaviours are rewarded with salary increases and promotions, as long as they are either achieving financial results or networking with the senior leaders - those that contribute to success less visibly and exhibit the right values can often be ignored, until things go wrong of course!

There needs to be better care of staff, not just empty words and kudos points – stop making decisions that impact people’s lives based on cost alone. And stop rewarding poor values and behaviours. You need to retain the good people and manage those who are not.
