Those interested in becoming a stylist or photographer can meet people in those positions and often become freelance assistants after leaving the company. $24 hourly pay is competitive within the market, but was reduced from $25/hour during the pandemic. Basically, this allows the company to hire on an as needed basis, though most casuals are kept on and given full time schedules (40+ hours/week) yet they are not eligible for health benefits, paid time off, or ability to get a raise. Employees who ask for more are ghosted, not fired as to avoid paying for unemployment. This is possible because of the “casual” employment status. Those who excel at the job are kept in low positions. " Supervisors never liked to assist, majority of time you were referred back to the AI chat that was backed up.
