Pay is good Lots of departments to work in Union benefits Nice store Communication between departments and management/employees is terrible, training is nonexistent. One minute you’re supposed to be doing one thing, the next you’re being berated for doing that thing. They’ll tell you you’re doing something wrong but not tell you how to fix it. My mental health was absolutely wrecked by working at this store. The pay isn't worth it. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 5.0 2968 Open Train your people - actually have someone WATCH them and TELL THEM and SHOW THEM what they’re doing wrong and how to do it better. Figure out what you’re doing and what you want done before sending people scrambling. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Open Apr 18th, 2024 01:46AM Apr 18th, 2024 01:46AM Save Mart Supermarkets

private:savemart https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=2968 Mar 23rd, 2024 12:00AM Open Open The Save Mart Companies Multi Purpose Clerk Paradise, CA Paradise CA store is toxic You will get a lot of hours if you work in a department, benefits for you and your family, good pay, you get paid weekly, raises depending on the hours you put in, and room for advancement. Management: Unprofessional, dismissive, and unappreciative. Corporate higher ups: They increase their expectations for store management to sell more but also to reduce the amount of shrink/out dated products with no help and the employees that are provided are inconsistent and need to be retrained which puts stress on the long-term employees' productivity to produce. Union Officer: Unreliable, when it comes to providing a healthy workplace. Work culture: By far the WORST workplace I have ever been employed at. There is no write up system or consequences so the employees will often display terrible behavior. Typical work day: Repetitive tasks. If you work in a department there are no assigned tasks unless you have an official position title so be ready to take on your expected duties plus your coworkers'. Other Cons Drama, not pulling one's own weight, power-tripping, highly competitive, department workers and department managers try to make you quit if you dont get along well with them, backstabbing, talking bad about each other, job sabotage, no job security, pot-stirring, getting involved in someone else's business, cliques, game-playing, territorial coworkers, public arguments and yelling; shoulder checking and physically blocking; coworkers feel threatened or jealous when you move up the ladder, departments workers have no system to help with delegating tasks -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 4.0 5.0 1.0 2.0 2968 Open Management doesn't isten to any employees. Expectations are absolutely unrealistic. Expect to do all jobs without any labor or help and then be treated poorly when your store is not perfect. Long work hours daily and weekly, on call 7 days a week and working 12-15+ hrs/day Leaders of the company will tell you “there’s the door” if you don’t want to commit to the insane expectations. Raises and bonuses are nonexistent This job made me so depressed due to not being able to see my family or have any work life balance. I was working constantly wanting to help my team(who was feeling the pressure of labor cuts and corporate expectations as well). After I quit I found out my DM was talking badly about me to other employees. What a terrible way to represent a company, run a company, and treat hard working employees. What a shame what has been done to the company after selling. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 2968 Open Work a quarter in the shoes of the employee, SM, ASM, CSM or department head.
