About the customer to hell with staff

Most of the team in all stores I've worked in were great.
|
"Its about the customer always" is taken very seriously. Customers can get away with anything- returning products that shouldn't be returned even if its against company policy (bedding) head office attitude of "just do it" even after store says no making us look like idiots.
Customers can return and rebuy after products are reduced in price when no other retail store will allow it.
Quality of products is falling while prices go up. Sales targets and kpi's unachievable.
There is NO work/life balance. Managers are overworked and underpaid its no wonder they burn out.

It was a good place to work for a while there, but changed a lot when new management came in late 2023.
There were times when I felt like previous management really listened and changed things through employee surveys.
The sample sales are decent.
Some work from home days which is flexible.

The new management is removing parts of the job that are enjoyable in favour of getting work done quicker, (freelancing out more creative work)
Potential unconscious bias from some staff and management that seem to favour certain personality types.
The discount is only slightly better than the Linen Lovers loyalty program, and sometimes Linen Lovers had a better discount than staff, so most people end up buying the $20 linen lovers membership anyway.
