Sunderland GBR Senior Banking and Internet Banking Consultant Systems are poorly managed, so troubleshooting and issue snagging is a regular part of the job and a regular cause of frustration and anger from customers. Training is comprehensive, you won't be taught everything, but you'll be taught how to find the information for yourself. Managers and the senior management team were excellent, though often were missing from the floor, so customers were regularly left on hold while call handlers sought support. Targets were based on average call handling time, hold times, and time spent in back office. Due to the regular technical issues, a lot of time was spent in back office to report these issues, for which call handlers were regularly penalized. Annual wage increases and bonuses were based on these metrics. You'll typically start on 1 skill, like 'general banking', and be expected to take on another for each year of service. Many staff hold 3+ skills, however, these come with no wage increase or other benefit and only increase workload. Everything is timed including your break but they're generally understanding especially when you're new. Take advantage of the people who don't speak out. Micromanaged. Management not completely honest and go back on their word. Some employees get away with not contributing to the work only because they are friends with the boss. Lot of admin work outsourced to India and quality of work is appalling which resulted a lot of redundancies.
