Worked in the Research and then Advertising Departments during the 80's and 90's, before NY Newsday's demise. Wonderful people and my bosses during that time were great. Resigned and moved when they sold NY Newsday, and understand it's a shell of its former self. Glad I enjoyed it when it was great.

Training was great. The requirements of the job are laid out mostly however scheduling for what hours you need to be working and how they expect you to meet your quota was not explained well.

Toxic, greedy, Apathetic to customers. Great benefits.

I have worked here for going on three years now. At first i was very content, however over time the company's practices have become more greedy and the customer service workers have been stripped of all tools to help customers. As a retail sales consultant we take a lot of abuse and are expected to stand up for a company that neither cares about us or it's customers. Everyone i work with hates it here and want to leave but have already invested too many years with nothing to show for it. I have been trying to get out but sometimes i feel trapped. Have personally had several emotional breakdowns in the last year. Would not recommend this job to anyone.

If you like being stabbed in the back, forced to resign in lew of being fired for a poorly investigated incident, sure. work here! On a positive note, there were good technicians under my supervision who worked hard for little pay, but the turnover was high when better jobs appeared.

Great field for technology but you need to learn it yourself since they no longer have a technical training dept. Production is the key to everything including your next paycheck. Productivity rates above all else. Quality is mentioned but not as important as it was before the change of ownership. Service calls have become "get it working and leave" calls. Don't make it right. Just make it work. It's a shame because customers suffer in the end

I found it ridiculous that technical support had to sell products. Does the sales department troubleshoot a modem? NO!!! Quite frankly if anyone in sales or billing heard any technical issues from the customer they would transfer that customer to tech like touching a hot potato.
