A difficult work day begins with a handoff from the prior shift, as an extruder I was responsible to check all the processes and the product being produce. to handle very highly expensive equipment in a responsible manner and to check and double check my work for accuracy. I can’t really remember seeing management. The workplace culture was very dog eat dog with everyone clawing their way up to management from the bottom. The hardest part about the job was the heavy burden of responsibility placed on an individual. There was no team concept in their work structure. The most enjoyable part of the job was that you had most of the control during your shift.
