HR does not help their employees. 12 hour shifts and job was not bad. Fiber Manager not nice. Favoritism of management to certain employees. Mandatory overtime is required all the time in Fiber. Usually you don't get Holidays off in Fiber. People are miserable working there so they can usually be rude. If you have a family you will hardly ever see them only in mgmt. do you get family life. Great place for adults under 30. 30 minute Lunches, Dirty and hazardous work environment. Some days would last 14 to 16 hours. Everyone thinks they're the best and everyone else is an idiot. Problems come from the top down and no one cares to address any of the issues. Write ups given frequently to keep people on the edge of being fired when they outlive their usefulness to the company. Stay far away unless you can manage to avoid most social interaction. Most of the work itself is easy but regardless people will talk behind your back about how terrible you are regardless of your skill level. Union needs major reform as most of the executive don't care about issues that don't effect them. Younger members of the union are far more effective than the "experienced" members. I wasn't there but for less than 2 years but the work is not difficult if you dont mind 12 hour shifts. Pay is good for the area and benefits are pretty good.
