In this role, you will:
Create complex database reports and Business Intelligence dashboards based on end users specifications or requirements.
Provide analytical and technical support for complex requests, projects, or initiatives.
Capture specified document user requirements, gathering report objectives, required data and specifications.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of management reports and/or developing the views those reports are based on using Crystal Reports, SSRS, Power BI and QlikView reporting applications.
Extract data and runs reports from an existing library and creates new reports/ modifies existing reports as appropriate.
Work with the business to ensure appropriate governance is applied and adhered to in accordance with IT best practices.
Carry out data validation with the Applications Manager to ensure reports are pulling all correct data accurately and achieving customer needs.
Develop the reports within the existing Data Warehouse and ERP.
Develop reports and extracts from multiple data sources.
Other duties as directed.
The ideal candidate brings:
Experience with data repository design and maintenance and database administration and complex reporting analysis.
Technical and/ or business experience with demonstrable professional growth.
Experience with problem and issue resolution preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of working in report writing using SQL, Crystal XI, Power BI, SSRS, Business Intelligence or other reporting tools.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Data Warehouse technology.
QlikView experience.
Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment, while delivering quality service.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong collaboration and consulting skills, committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user needs in a prompt, courteous manner.
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical writing skills with experience in gathering and documenting user requirements and the ability to produce documents ranging from specifications to user manuals.
Self-motivated, self-directed and independent thinking as well as an effective team player.
Experience working in a large scale organization with ERP systems desired.
Good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation computer programs, preferably Microsoft.
Minimum of three year’s directly related experience required.
Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required.

In this role, you will:
Provide procurement support to both existing projects and new business opportunities (as required).
The Buyer shall gain experience in Babcock Canada’s procurement procedures and is responsible for procuring goods and services within the following framework:
Schedule – Procure goods and services in a timely manner in order to meet the project schedule
Cost – Achieve the lowest total acquisition cost and negotiate savings where possible
Quality – Responsible for vendors’ quality performance; engage with internal stakeholders such as engineering, technical inspectors and cataloguing to resolve any technical issues that may emerge
Follow Babcock Canada’s commercial guidelines and ensure all contracts are within the agreed terms and conditions
Standing Offer – The buyer may be asked to negotiate Standing Offer Agreements and/or Service Level Agreements with vendors
New Market analysis and supply chain design in support of new business.
Supplier performance and risk mitigation for nominated suppliers
Manage Supply. The buyer shall manage vendors and will be responsible for the vendor relationship:
Engage proactively with the vendors to develop formal relationships
Ensure that goods and services are delivered on-time; advise the project if goods and services are late and develop mitigation actions
Act as the point of contact for all vendor issues pertaining to logistics, invoicing, documentation, etc.
Support Category Management and assist in developing category/vendor strategies
Where possible, identify and develop new vendors
Monitor vendor performance using key performance indicators (KPI’s) and aim for continuous improvements
Manage the Order Book: The buyer is responsible for the order book (the order book covers the entire lifecycle, including but not limited to requisition to purchase order, delivery, payment and closeout.)
Assist the Senior Buyer and the Procurement Manager as and when required with the day to day operation and management of the procurement activities
The ideal candidate brings:
You have 2+ years of experience in a similar role
You hold American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), Supply Chain or Procurement certifications (considered an asset)
You hold a Bachelor of Commerce, Economics, or other degree/diploma (considered an asset)
You have knowledge of commercial business practices and proven communication skills, both verbally and written
You have experience in sourcing and supplier selection, supplier performance management, supplier capability assessments and supplier risk management
You have the ability to analyse information while using critical thinking
You have the ability to act professionally to internal and external stakeholders
You are proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
You have experience in industrial supply chain (considered an asset)

In this role, you will:
Provide leadership and engineering governance for a growing team of engineers and technologists to execute submarine hull surveys and complete inspections for complex systems and structures
Lead the delivery of survey activities across multiple projects and throughout the individual project lifecycles
Be responsive to Project Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements in a high-volume shipyard waterfront environment
Establish, document and maintain the qualification policies, processes and professional requirements for surveyors
Coordinate the training and development needs of surveying engineers and technicians to meet the evolving resource requirements of the submarine hull survey program; ensure that a professional capability of suitably qualified and experienced personnel is continuously available through active succession planning and management
Establish and maintain the quality requirements for survey reports along with other survey team outputs including the direct review and approval of hull survey outputs for release to external customers
Assess, qualify and audit the professional practices of surveyors to ensure high levels of quality and adherence to Babcock’s standards of delivery
Coordinate across Babcock to establish, document and continuously improve hull survey policies, processes, guidelines and tools that are necessary to reliably deliver required survey outputs
Foster links and maintain good working relationships with other technical teams, customers, industry and the wider Babcock International Group to enable effective use of business capability
Stay current with advancing and emerging technologies in the marine survey domain and provide specialist engineering advice in marine surveying to the wider Babcock team as necessary to maximise knowledge transfer and build operational capability
Be responsible for the occupational Health & Safety of all direct reports

The ideal candidate brings:
An Engineering Degree, Technologist Diploma, or equivalent training and experience
12 years of marine structural surveying or related experience
7+ years of naval architecture, marine structural or welding experience where experience in a senior capacity will be considered a differentiating asset
Proven leadership skills and experience providing professional guidance to technical teams in a marine business
A strong ability to manage and coordinate multiple competing tasks and priorities while remaining focused, calm, and professional under pressure
Proven ability to sustain a collaborative team environment and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
An understanding of quality systems and engineering governance with strong supporting audit skills and written communication proficiency

In this role, you will:
Integrate and test radio communications equipment.
Work with secure and non-secure radio communications architectures.
Integrate and Test TCP/IP physical networks (fiber and ethernet).
Provide support to configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting a Victoria Class Submarine communications system.
Produce and maintain technical documentation and reports.
Work in a multidiscipline team to realise technical solutions to protect and enhance Victoria Class Submarine capability.
Analyze the impact of changes to equipment on the architecture of the Victoria Class Submarine Communications system.
Use requirements in the design and development of changes to the Victoria Class Submarine Communications System.
Leverage experience to determine technical solutions to complex problems.
The ideal candidate brings:
Strong technical skills including post-secondary education or apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Eligible for recognition as AScT, CTech, P.Eng., or EIT designation, as applicable, in British Columbia.
8+ years experience Integrating and testing radio communications equipment.
3+ years experience satisfying system requirements in the design and development of a system.
Experience in secure and non-secure radio communications architectures.
Experience with electro-magnetic security principles is an asset.
Communications Control Room integrator and/or maintainer experience is an asset.
Experience in working effectively in a multidisciplne engineering and production environment is an asset.
Knowledge on network topology and communication (Cisco Certified Network Associate or equivalent) is an asset.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
Effective computer skills including the MS Office suite.
Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.

In this role, you will:
Day to day management of contracts (prime or sub) including, where necessary, amendments, claims and dispute resolution
Lead in resolution of trade control issues, especially ITAR
Build and maintain relationships with customers and subcontractors
Maintain contract-related documents and correspondence
Work closely with Legal and Financial Directors during the bidding and execution phase of contracts
Be accountable for commercial performance, delivery, and compliance within delegated levels of authority
Undertake commercial reviews and compliance analysis; prepare commercial bid documentation
Set and lead negotiation strategies, commercial negotiations with clients, strategic partners, and suppliers in order to achieve compliant, best value, and lowest risk solutions for customers and the company
Provide advice on various standard and non-standard pre- and post-contract agreements, and the process for securing legal approval to support the business
Engage with external legal advisors as required
Perform other duties as assigned
As our ideal candidate:
You possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Commerce, Law, or Engineering; an MBA would be considered an asset
You have eight (8) to ten (10) years of commercial management experience, ideally including the following:
Experience in preparing commercial bids or leading Government bid evaluation teams
A full understanding of Canadian Federal Government contracting terms and policies (SACC Manual), with an emphasis on long-term collaborating and performance based contracts
Experience with export control issues, including CGP and ITAR
A working level knowledge of insurance issues and leasing
Resolution of complex contract issues in the defence sector
Creating and maintaining positive working relationships with both Clients and suppliers/subcontractors

In this role, you will:
Support the configuration-management infrastructure for a large Naval program in order to meet customer obligations.
Work directly with Engineering and other internal stakeholders to ensure the required interface support is in place to meet program obligations.
Configure data change traffic during submarine work-periods; support processing of customer & company data records.
Clean-up and correct existing configuration data while supporting the structuring of data for eventual transition to modernized tool set.
Work within a small team dedicated to resolution of configuration issues.
The ideal candidate brings:
Post-secondary education credentials in a technical field
Minimum one year experience embedded in (or working closely with) configuration management for a Naval or Aerospace program
The following criteria are considered assets:
Education within an engineering or technical discipline.
Experience with DRMIS, IFS, SAP or other data-management system
Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.

In this role, you will:
Assist the Project Managers in all aspects of project Cost Control.
Prepare and deliver regular internal and external cost control reports and documentation.
Estimating the cost to complete the projects, as well as provisions and necessary risks
Assess the impacts on the costs of each change or contract modification during the execution phase.
Provide recommendations or alternatives that address existing and potential issues and opportunities.
Develop and document best practices and procedures as needed. Collaborate and work with stakeholders while supporting financial and operational goals.
Review and analyse the effectiveness and management of costs.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measurable actions.
Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed projects to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Review quotes to ensure cost effectiveness.
Conduct gap analyses and consider approaches to resolve variances.
Provide critical assessment of all budgets and cost projections.
Be aware of events and trends that could impact resource costs.
Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at the expected cost.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the interdependency of cost drivers.
Commit to minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency at all levels, without compromising quality and any level.
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in written format, with stakeholders, vendors/suppliers and management.
Present new strategies and assessments to stakeholders in a compelling fashion.
Participate in special projects as assigned by management.
The ideal candidate brings:
You have at least 4 years of experience in a cost controller function and a degree in finance, business administration, engineering or other relevant field.
You have extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in reports, Excel, graphs, and flow charts.
You are able to understand technical requirements.
You have experience in the operation and analysis of databases, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
You have demonstrated project management skills.
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships and credibility with professionals at any level in the organization.
