Good company working hard to get back to being successful

I work with a great team of people who are very supportive and loyal to the business. I have a remote contract that enables me to balance my family life with work. Our head office is 90 miles from where I live, but all the systems I need to do my work and keep in touch with the office are all online and work really well. I’d initially dismissed working with Carpetright because the office was so far away, but 3 years later I’m glad I decided to join them.

Everyone is really busy so it’s difficult sometimes to get time and support from others to move my work on as quickly as I’d like.

Money ,basic of £17k made up to minimum wage by use of 1st £500 of earned commission. Impossible to achieve with commission of average of 1.4% per order. Atv at store £800 .Bonus structure in place Impossible to understand and achieve with so many different components. Staff morale low as nobody expected to earn more then minimum wage so why try hard to sell

Pay can be a little on the low side for some colleagues whereas some seem to be paid very well.
There is a need to patient, as approval for things can take too long There are some budget restraints at the moment but within retail everyone is in the same boat at the moment...
It would be fantastic if the Company could really look into progression pathways as there is a pattern of loosing some really good people within the team as they have nowhere to go... which is such a shame

Commission your promised is easily stolen from you with management replacing names on orders with theirs, unprofessional working environment, managers get to do little or nothing whole u work ur life away, no where to turn if you have problems in store, basically working for minimum wage, and working long hours.

To have proper training as I was teaching my manager how to do things, while she had ridiculous amounts of cigarette breaks, management refused to answer problem phone calls forcing you to deal with the problem at hand, I need time of for my son to have emergency surgery and was refused, I was backed into a corner to leave my job, had to deal with very angry customers as many problems arose from jobs not being followed through properly and mistakes made by management that higher up refused to rectify, a few incidents of threats made in store the list goes on!! The job itself I was good at and enjoyed but management definitely need more training and to be more professional, co workers agreed bit no one you can speak to for help.

Great company to work for. I have worked here for over 8 years and cannot see myself leaving. The benefits are great and have drastically improved in recent years. My work life balance is the best it has ever been. I would definitely recommend.

Can be a divide between SSO (Store Support Office) and Retail colleagues/stores, but it is something we are very mindful of and always strive to improve.
