Not a good environment to work in avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On first working for Dignity it appears it is a friendly team based company to work for.
However I soon realised this is not the case.
It is long hours and you are never asked if that is ok to constantly work late it is always expected. You are never appreciated for what you do there.
Very rare you will get a lunch break, it is very much a do as you are told culture, any input or ideas to improve work life conditions are quickly shut down. You are not allowed to ask or question anything.
Overtime/on call is a joke and certainly not reflected in your pay.
Be expected to start work at 830 also on occasions expected to start at 630am work past 5pm and unlucky if it’s your evening to be on call.
There is also a bullying culture which management overlook.
Overall a tiring draining

Don't work here
|
Don't bother, not a good company to work for. You work hard and get paid poorly. Management is beyond a joke, too many clicks and if you don't fit in they will find a way to get you out. No progression if you not close to the business leader, increases per year average around £400 divide that by 12 and its an astonishing amount of £36 a month! Want you to multi task but won't pay for the extra work you do!!

The company offers what it says on the tin, currently making improvements and showing positive movement.
Progression is an issue and management can entirely depend on location.

Management don't trust them at all no back up just grif all day long work place culture there all back stabers hardest part of the job starting work the most enjoyable part of the job getting paid if that is if its right and going home

Enjoyable in a strange way

Management are useless but the employees and families make it worth while. You see some unimaginable scenes, constantly people crying which does emotionally damage you, but it is so rewarding in the long run.

Badly run company with bullying culture

Badly run company with a bullying culture at it's core. Poorly paid with little to no opportunity for career progression or useful training. It is a toxic workplace where managers at local levels have too much power and no accountability. HR only has the best interests of the business at it's heart and doesn't seem to care at all about it's employees.

Got sucked into the new leadership con and soon realised it’s a place run by amateurs with barely any experience.
Dignity had such a good reputation but all the new hires and new changes havent made it a great place to work as most of the hires have no idea and do not have big cvs and backgrounds.
Most senior managers haven’t even done one job they’re hired to do before! How this business still stands I don’t know.
Don’t do it unless you want to babysit the leadership team!

Toxic workplace, lack of professionalism within management
|
Certain managers have no continuity and very contradictive. Staff are not treated equally, it's a case of 'If your face fits'.
Policies and procedures are not followed by certain managers, but those managers are quick to pull you aside for the most petty things.
HR is none existent, they do not address issues in any shape or form and if they do it's all lies and false promises in hopes you will just go away. At the end of the day they are just there to look pretty so Dignity can tick a box.

I love working as a funeral arranger and my colleagues feel like my second family. It can be really busy at times and other times too quiet.
