Assigned the role for my 42 years' experience, latterly Senior Project Administrator for a team of 125 people; taking on the Enquest role following redundancy after 8 years within a similar organisation. The handover was very poor as the previous incumbent had already begun a new role. There comes a point when you have been in an organisation for long enough that you know the way things work inside out. The expectation seemed to be that someone new to the organisation would by some sort of osmosis, operate at the same speed as the previous incumbent of 12 years. I discovered procedures were "clunky" at best and only discoverable almost by accident. I was very glad to have been "let go" by Enquest. My faith in my own abilities were restored following this glitch in my career. Now I am semi-retired, I feel I can report freely on my experience because as we know, the industry IS a village.
