Unprofessional. Popularity contest culture.
|
Unless you are one of the popular ones, licking the boots of the bosses, pretend you are a part of the “family”, you will go nowhere in this company.
There are a million reasons, from 0h contracts to dubious internal promotions. It’s a charade and don’t even get me started on the Service Coaches cult.
They don’t realise how wrong things are even though they had to sell half of the company a year ago. Terrible management right from the top, selling a dream of training and coaching when in reality it’s all a popularity contest, and you will never get rewarded on hard work if you are not part of the “group”. The life goal of most managers seems to be getting a mention on the CEO weekly catch up videos (with great important info on how his kids and wife are doing and where are they travelling this weekend. Oh and by the way, how he cannot tell his kids to follow the COVID restrictions rules as they deserve to travel and have fun as young people do). I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism in my life. Yes the competitors treat staff like just a number on the system but at least they don’t pretend that it’s not like that. They say that at this “family run business” it’s not like that but this is just a very well built facade to hide the fact that in reality, nobody cares about you unless you are the greatest boot licker around.

Stressful

Well I will try to summarize as much as possible they make it very evident that the preference is for British employees, because easy to notice in the difference in the treatment , payment and promotion, and that feeling that you are just something that will not be missed and your name become a number

Could be better
|
Fuller’s are a great company and proud to work for them. However considering the numerous training courses they put you through to get anywere. They do have a habit of letting anyone run a pub with lack of interest. Which reduces staff motivation.
The balance is great if you get in a good pub

Poorly organised
|
Poorly managed, very chaotic. Never felt appreciated but very quick to pick up on, and criticise any mistakes. Minimum wage and couldn’t guarantee cash tips as these were used to make up any shortfall in the tills. Very low staff morale.

Lovely environment
|
Loved the management and how they went in about things progression is quick if you want it to and also very rewarding job. Would 100% recommend. They have a very good scheme called service coach which is all about customer service and how to give your customers that 5 star experience.

Great company.
|
I worked there as a commie chef,
It was a very competitive environment.
Good memories though but always hard work.
A cocktail mix of different people, from all over the world, a very diverse place.
|
Always free lunch, also dinner if you work double shift.
|
Long hours.

Fantastic place socially, cut throat culture with massive gossip problems
|
The social side of working here was fantastic. I met a lot of great people and the company so a lot for their employees. However I feel I was never truly accepted, which is odd in a HR team. I would often come in to find people gossiping about you (or others) and the head of HR would always make a thing of walking past the window two or three times if you had a meeting (of which there were lots given it was HR)
|
Socials, Christmas, lunchtime restaurant
|
Gossip culture, negative team ethos, stab in the back mentality of some
