A culture where days are long and breaks infrequent.
I enjoyed the work I did but the experience was overall a negative one due to bad/inconsistent management, under staffing and dictates from head office which were almost impossible to meet.

Very good place for getting experience of repair any bikes.

Weekend is the most busy time of the week. Management very low experience. Only 2 managers was able to work fairly with the staff. I learn more about bicycles repairing, PDI, and sailing. The hardest part of the job is problem with manager or my deputy manager. Now days there are trying to exist. The most enjoyable part of the job is party with my colleagues. After the work.

Where to begin, autocentre assistant manager, awful pay you can get more stacking shelves, world leading IT system is rubbish, bonuses are non existent even if you hit targets, the regional managers have Omega watches and brand new Teslas take from that what you will. Customer complaints are upheld with no investigation as to whether you have done anything you are just blamed. Extremely high churn of employees because of the toxic work environment. Zero training, blatant ripping off of customers. Run on skeleton staff most of the time you will be worked to the bone and receive no gratitude for a single second I worked through my lunch to a total of over 40 hours then got told they would not honour it as I chose to work through it. Do not work here you are better than this.

Long working hours and mandatory Saturdays. No bank holidays off or even reduced hours on national holidays. Not even a shorter day on Saturday. I've seen technicians over worked with no lunch breaks because halfords set monthly targets too high.
Halfords advertise an uncapped bonus scheme but getting bonus is a myth. It's impossible to achieve and if you do get it, you don't get much. Stay away from halfords and move up to main dealers for your own mental wellbeing.
