Flexible Hours - Ideal for a part-time job when trying to save up money quickly. Lucky with manager - he was open, honest, helpful and understanding. The role wouldn't have been half as good wihtout him. Room for growth within the company if that was something of interest to you.

Either very short or long shifts - 3 hour shifts seemed pointless. On your feet for hours with only a short break - stools would have been brilliant.

Some of the staff are nice

One rule for managers, another for everyone else. Managers would rather tell you off for making a mistake than teach you how to do something properly, and spend more time micromanaging than actually working. Staff have no empathy for disabled customers, and will happily see them struggle to carry something if they can't be bothered to help. Very outdated technological infrastructure.

Stop creating double standards, stop micromanaging, actually do work yourselves instead of standing there and telling others what to do. Stop creating problems out of nothing to make yourselves look like you're in control to the customer, be more fair in sharing work roles and do not make everyone else do the hard work. Share equipment and do not have "manager only" headsets that never get used, and stop expecting new starters to master everything on day one.
Don't tell staff to "change their personality" if they aren't gelling with you - maybe they are just having a bad day and don't want to be told to "try and have more banter". Also, if you agree a maximum no. of hours in an Interview, do not greatly exceed that no. in the first week. Please actually try to notice when staff are putting in effort and please praise them.
