Not the good place for working
|
If you are the fresh, Meggitt maybe the idea work place for learning the skills and working experiences in MNC. Otherwise, Meggitt is not the good working place for employee: old operation method and not willing to adapt. Neither reward for good employee nor punishment for bad employee, as the result there is no motivation while working here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Avoid. TOXIC culture and awful weak HR. Such a shame as has the possibility to be brilliant. 10 years ago it was.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
An ops director than dodnt understand the business. Had zero understanding of traceable parts needed for aerospace. Encouraged people to work like cowboys.

Toxic through smoke and mirrors lack of knowledge. Dont waste your time
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Whatever the ops director felt like. No consistency. Constantly excuses to the customer.

Not what it used to be

Firstly disregard any reviews made pre-Covid. The company has undergone both a factory move and been taken over by an American mega-corporation which has changed everything for the worst (mostly).
It’s a tale of two halves. The shop floor can’t be faulted. The knowledge is immense and if you’re young you can really learn a lot from those alongside you. The pay is excellent but sadly shift/overtime rates and benefits are no longer in line with what you’d expect ant a world-leading aviation company. And for the most part you’re respected and trusted enough to do your job independently.
The corporate (office) side is a different story altogether. It feels like there are more apprentices than permanent staff in some departments, and the lack of experienced staff is a serious concern. It seems the only people who want to actively join the company are from an automotive background which really says a lot about the state of the company. I worry greatly for the future of the organisation.

World class company, but issues with some team members.
|
I quitted the company due to comments made on the shop floor by some members of my last team. I found the last team I worked with toxic and oppressing. The attitude of some staff members towards aerospace standards I found inadequate. Meggitt did not offer me alternative employment and deemed me non-team player. Two previous teams were ok. The manager was understanding and I got paid in full on my last payslip. But the feeling of disappointment remains.

Company went thru several changes during the years all in the name of profit so it could be sold. Compensation and co-workers were good but the matrix organization was not good.
