Worst company I’ve ever worked for

Upper management expect you to do too much in such a little time.
No support from area managers they just bully you
Never get a day off will quite regularly have to go in on your day off to help out.
Shops never have enough hours so you can spend most of the day or night lone trading and when escalated to your area manager you just get told to deal with it

Worst job you can imagine, a living nightmare!
|
Terrible in every aspect as there is no teamwork, you’re just lone working the whole department on your own. Management are clowns and normal colleagues are just left and forgotten about juggling different jobs. Pay is the worst out of all UK supermarkets but management work you like a dog with no benefits or help. I wouldn’t recommend anyone working here as the turnover is so high and you don’t learn anything apart from work faster.

Typical day consists of constantly asking for support but rarely getting it, it’s 50/50 with management, some are really invested in you, others are just in it for the money or because they’re waiting for something else to come along. Quite a toxic place to work in my opinion.

Start at 7am fo in get my paperwork load van and chat with team leader and management about any issues then its simply getting out there and delivering the shopping and being as helpful as possible
|
Paid holidays pension alway overtime available

Wow how do I put this on your words.
Since Morrison bought over McColls things have gotten worse. Till system, IT, shoplifting, 12 hour shifts, solo working, poor training, yodel pickup service never working.
The hardest part of the job was the large paper round, every single morning there was a headache with customers not receiving their papers.
The store where I worked really struggled to get staff and keep them.
They have added Costa, Morrisons bakery, which just adds more work and more stress. If someone calls and sick you could be expected to work from 6am till 6:00 p.m. as the store manager with no break.
This is honestly the worst possible company I could imagine to work for.
Some of the staff are cool and the customers can be really nice also.
Some of the deliveries that you would receive was unbelievable, 16 cages for a convenience store is ridiculous.
I would not wish this on my worst enemy.

Staff and one family member staff discount which would also increase for short periods from time to time.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Insufficient training and guidance especially when expected to control the self scan checkouts. Management not willing to listen and resolve this problem for me.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not very pleasant surroundings, old and tired building, buckets to catch dripping water from roof behind some checkouts. Staff toilets constantly out of order. Millions of lockers but no keys for them. New staff not issued locker as no budget to get replacement keys. Old and pre used torn and dirty deodorant stained uniform given as no budget to give new items. People office whose employee was not interested in resolving any problems. Some staff became warmer and friendly over time. Supervisors and above not very approachable most times.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Serve at checkouts, sent to shop floor for tidying or filling during quiet times.
