Even when it’s really busy people still take the time to help out. Although the hourly rate is good because it’s such low hour contracts the pay is not great. Definitely not a job for someone that is looking to make a living, however if you don’t need full time it’s a perfect job. Complete lack of empathy with colleagues. A lot of shaming and blaming rather than getting stuck in and helping during busy periods. Great colleagues but a heavy work load at times. Physically demanding, you could be given very hilly routes with lots of steps. If the manager doesn’t like you, you’ll get nowhere. Decent wage Physically demanding, stressful 0.0 0.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 Jan 13th, 2021 02:47AM Mar 19th, 2021 07:56PM Royal Mail Industrials Industrial Transportation
lon:rmg https://www.indeed.com/cmp/royal-mail/reviews Jan 10th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Open Royal Mail Christmas Casual Mail Sorter Wolverhampton, West Midlands GBR A multi-faceted position The job in general was progressive in a sense that if the floor management take to your personality and work ethic, they would give you the opportunity to be placed in many different types of work positions within the hub. For example, you could be conveying 'yorks' across the hub floor to different departments to be sorted or you could be sorting 'oversized' parcels to be taken nationwide or even be sorting and distributing 'flat' and ad-mail to be posted across the region. Overall, it was a joy for me personally to work there, there were some great characters to work alongside and the Royal Mail staff were always there to help. Where else can you do over 20,000 steps a day, get fit and get paid for it..!? Possibilities of overtime. lon:rmg https://www.indeed.com/cmp/royal-mail/reviews Jan 7th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Open Royal Mail Postman Gloucestershire Worst company ive worked for. Extremely stressful place to work made worse by unbelievably poor management and people phonong in sick all the time making it twice as bad for those who do put the work in. Management lie to you to get their own way. Morale is at an all time low. No team work just everyone looking out for themselves. Now we're back in lockdown its gone crazy again so flat out with no breaks and no help. The training was a joke, I had 2 days to learn my round and shown the collection route once. Then left to fend for myself. Vans are just about road worthy. On going training they promise that enhances your career consists of how to use your pda better and a few other pointless online courses. I was really excited to start after the induction, then reality kicks in and the lies start. Can't wait to find somewhere else. You'll lose weight rapidly through stress and trying to get your round done in time. lon:rmg https://www.indeed.com/cmp/royal-mail/reviews Jan 6th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Open Royal Mail Postman Port Talbot Bullies! Discriminate against people with Mental Health issues. Royal Mail is a toxic working environment where workers are bullied into doing more than is fair. They pretend they care about Mental Health but in reality all they care about is PROFIT! If you suffer with Mental Health issues or any other type of issues I would recommend staying clear of this profit driven monster that only sees workers as just a number! lon:rmg https://www.indeed.com/cmp/royal-mail/reviews Dec 31st, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Open Royal Mail Cleaning Operative Norfolk If you take a cleaning job here . . . then please be prepared! Well what can I say? If you are looking to enhance your cleaning career then Royal Mail is your place, but make sure you find something better after six months because this job will tire you out. A typical daily shift would be the usual; sweeping the main floor, endless tidying up of litter in the loading bay dumped by the posties, daily unblocking of staff toilets that they block up, mopping up massive ponds of water from the biblical rains (that Royal Mail can't be bothered to fix those leaks!), tidying up the mechanic's garage, tidying up the smoking area (and not forgetting to sweep/ litter picking up the postal staff's far flung used teabags, their butt ends, etc), stock check, replenish consumables, empty bins of course and don't bother recycling anything, because their excuse is, 'haven't got the time.' Other jobs include cleaning the staff kitchens, vacuuming and mopping floors, sanitising surfaces and the disinfecting the posties sorting frames, clean both the stairwells and maintain the reception area and the list goes on and on and on! As you can see as a Cleaning Operative you learn everything about everything. The workplace culture is generally well that cleaners are invisible and the most enjoyable part of the job is having a breather with a quick coffee, despite my manager saying your not entitled to one. The hardest part of the job well its all tiring to be honest and you will be cream crackered by the time you get home. The fun part is that you can manage your own work load and its part time hours, but hey all for minimum wage! When you do change to a new job after leaving here, at least you served as the posties' skivvy. Just get moaned at. I let you make you own mind up. 0.0 0.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 Jan 13th, 2021 02:47AM Mar 20th, 2021 01:02PM Royal Mail Industrials Industrial Transportation
