Too stressful

Management and controllers always on your back. Never felt supported, work/home life massively imbalanced towards work. Too stressful to be productive, not allowed to think for yourself then made to feel a fool for not doing so!!
Money ok but I'd rather be paid less and have a better quality of life!

Can be a tough job if you make it tough. I’d advise not to take the verbal assaults personally because you will be abused trust me , it’s just the way a lot of people are these days . Chill out , drive up and down relax , you can’t beat the traffic , it’s not a race .

Management are backstabbing and untrustworthy the union works with Management so no help there. They don't care about family life or do not allow grievance days off. After 2 years was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. If you value family and your life don not apply

Stressful, your just a Number

Stagecoach don't care about staff, their families or anyone's health. Every company is there to make. Money but stagecoach will take it to the extra level to make their money. They bend rules when suitable for them, but punish you for the smallest mistake you may make. Management sit on their high horses not having a clue what goes on out in the real world. We are expected to take abuse, physical and verbal as its Part of the job.
Training is great to get your license but when it comes to route learning they will give you a paper map to follow whilst driving. But then punish you when you are late or are caught not paying attention to the road due to their road map 😂
The place is a joke and their turn over of staff is absolutely ridiculous.

Not as bad as you think

Working for stagecoach you are just a number. Management at the Northampton depot at least don’t make you fell like that. They are really quite good and they will work in your best interest as a person. Don’t listen to other staff about any member of management and make your own opinions instead is what I advise in this regard.
Shift patterns were totally random so not ideal if you want clear days off or want to work a steady 9-5. What brings the place down is that the majority of drivers are childish and will look for any excuse to refuse travel or create a problem with other drivers and customers. There are good drivers though that will look after you but if a driver you trust warns you of another driver, heed that warning! Although as previously mentioned ignore any opinions of management! This is because the people with bad things to say have probably been reasonably chastised and are upset about “that on time”. You’ll find that you feel like at times you might be in a bit of a playground.
Keep your head down and don’t truly trust anyone!
As a driver you spend most of the day on your own with customers so other drivers are quite easy to avoid if that’s what you wanna do. Just please don’t be “one of them drivers” and just be a decent person. And don’t let anyone treat you like a mug (except the passengers). If you’ve got a driver giving you grief, don’t stand and take it because it is very much a playground environment.

Guaranteed hours, overtime available, most passengers are decent, buses are kept in good condition, some drivers are pretty decent, good break time facility’s and regular breaks, good wage.

Random hours, can start super early, feels like you are raising your work mates, can finish super late.
