Great work environment
|
I have worked for Methley Park since 2017 with one year gap. The management is fantastic and it shows across the theatre department where I work. It is a small hospital and so it's like working like a family business. The staff are all friendly and supportive to one another. it can get stressful at times but that's no different anywhere else. Our patients are well looked after in a friendly and safe environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrived and have to check all the equipment needed and organise theatre, then do all the work and clean up at the end. Hopefully with two people.

Manager is a Narcissist, a Bully and unqualified for the role.

Very disorganised from day to day, hard to know what you are supposed to be doing. No guidance from Management and constantly changing priorities without being able to complete much.
I learned very little whilst at Spire because nobody was willing to teach me, even though I was promised guidance, support & training at my Interview I received very little. No PPE or tools for 4 months so I purchased my own work clothes and was not reimbursed.
My Manager was only interested in raising his profile, I found him unprofessional, Narcissistic and passive aggressive.
The most enjoyable part of my job were the people I got to know, the hospital staff were all lovely and will be missed.

|
There is a significant issue with unaddressed performance concerns, where underperforming staff members are not adequately dealt with. This, combined with an unsupportive atmosphere from certain key members of the team, negatively impacts overall team performance and morale. Urgent attention is needed to address both aspects for a more positive, effective and inclusive work environment.
Favouritism is rife within senior management, hindering an inclusive atmosphere, leading to low morale and a sense of feeling undervalued. Additionally, there can be a lack of sensitivity, support and compassion for personal circumstances further impacting well-being and morale.
Despite challenges, there are a couple of genuinely nice and supportive colleagues. Unfortunately I didn’t work closely with those people.
The availability of private healthcare through a salary sacrifice scheme is a valuable perk.
Suggestions for management:
1. Encourage open and transparent communication to improve overall team dynamics.
3. Provide management with leadership training to enhance communication skills and promote a more inclusive and respectful workplace culture.
4. Establish a robust performance management system to address underperforming and unsupportive staff members.
By addressing these suggestions, management can contribute to a more positive and inclusive work environment, leading to employee satisfaction and productivity.

Clean and nice hospital. The ward work is the same as anywhere else with similar challenges but staff are friendly. Management often get it wrong but that's the case everywhere in hospital business.

Bullies pretty much ruled the department I worked in, theatre manager didn’t listen to grievances, rarely left on time. Rude staff, no support

Toxic, bad management, awful place to work
|
Senior management team are a shocking bunch, do not care about staff unless you are a suck up to them. Seriously bad decision making all to cut costs and will make you work massive overtime with no toil.
Honestly used to be a fabulous place to work but not since the ‘new’ SMT. They are also happy to watch bullying happen by managers and not do a thing about it as they have said every one is replaceable!
