Very exciting and challenging engineering project

- Company is small and growing really fast. This brings the advantage in terms of opportunities. For me personally, there were many things where I could get involved with.
- Opportunity to work with talented people (many employees I met have PhDs, CFA and MBAs)
- Very friendly environment (in some ways at least)
- Last but not the least delicious coffee.
|
- Some element of confusion in terms of job responsibilities but can be overcome by having discussions with colleagues.
- Some people are too direct and blunt which felt slightly less constructive (especially when you are an intern).
- Seamer/Scarborough isn't as exciting as let's say Leeds/Edinburgh/London?

- A bit more structure for incoming employees can be advantageous.
- Understand that there is urgency but spend a bit more time in recruiting right talent - it will pay off in the long run.

Goundbreaking and innovative for the UK, the salary was reasonable, termination clauses unreasonable, the project had many challenges and on the face of it achievable.

However professional advice is not valued and the imformation flow secretive and guarded, with no clear results arising form much communication, it is clear that honesty and openess not appreciated by Senior Management, with the delivery plan not communicated. With written communication very low, avoidance of audit trail by Senior Management, all instructions appear to contrary and variablefire giving a feeling of shifting sands. Senior Management Solution to this is to fire personnel and change roles and arbitarily make bold statements."All Jobs are safe after major changes made in January", this was a false promise with a loss of a whole section of the company by the end of March.

With no due dillience and unqualified peple in senior roles taking decisions which cannot be verified through studies and with no plan, with what you want to do, the frequent communication the plan in detail is absent, if the Senior Mangementt cannot agreed at least communicate change management in phases, stop changing the delivery plan daily. There is a failure to verify who is really doing good works, while only looking at the verbal presentations of such. Company with no ethics or morals, a junior mining company.
