I was previously of the belief that gaining entry into esteemed organizations such as Tullow Ghana Limited necessitated having influential connections. However, my personal journey of securing a national service placement at the company fundamentally altered my perspective, proving to be a remarkably positive and transformative experience.
The recruitment process was comprehensive and well-organized. Despite not having prior contacts within the company, I received a call and was guided through an intake process. The process was thorough, and after successfully meeting each requirement, I was warmly welcomed into the company.
Working at Tullow has been an incredibly rewarding experience so far. The company's supportive and welcoming environment has stood out from the beginning. I am provided with a professional mentor who has been instrumental in guiding and shaping my experience. Additionally, the company organizes informative and enjoyable activities, creating a rich and engaging work culture that fosters both personal and professional growth.

My recruitment experience was a competitive one that began with a long itinerary of hiring stages. An aptitude assessment was conducted followed by an interview. Interestingly, it didn't turn out to be the usual assessment of work experience and negotiation of benefits though that was a part of it, it included a thorough CV review plus recommendations and an inquiry into how much you know, what you can do and how you intend to help the team progress in your role. It was not just about them but about me also. After a successful interview, I was invited for a medical assessment to ensure I was fit to work. Tullow's recruitment defies claims of having to know someone on the inside to be employed and focuses on selecting the best, ensuring their growth and continuous improvement.

The recruitment process takes time because of the various stages involved and unsuccessful candidates who do not have options may struggle to find new opportunity if dropped later in the process.
