Some processes are really not necessary and just a bad use of time.
Be more prepared to mentor apprentices, have a designated person who's main role is to do that as its unfair on both sides if the mentor is busy also juggling their main role.

The team I worked with. Great people who performed way above average in spite of everything Vertu throw at them.

The IT systems are not fit for purpose. Ill conceived, poorly executed and completely not for purpose IT system for selling cars. Blamed and accused of being YOUR fault that the system doesn't work by people who never have to use said system. Always having to come up with a work around to get the most simplest of tasked done.
You are held accountable for anything that goes wrong even if it isn’t your job. Constantly having to chase up other people to do their jobs correctly making the whole process excruciatingly painful and far more stressful than it needs to be.
You pay people the lowest amount of money possible to delivery an unacceptable quality of work and then expect your Sales staff to delivery and outstanding motoring experience. Expect your paint staff and alloy wheel repairers to visit the site twice a week, work outdoors from a van in hale, rain or shine and work on 20-40 cars! You set them up to fail.
For some crazy reason the company insists on subscribing to the most idiotic Sales Guru Evangelist out there and wanting staff to absorb this crap. This type of Sales Training might (it doesn’t) work in America but not in the UK. If you spoke to anyone using the 9 square grid where I live you would get laughed at and thrown in the looney bin.
Sales staff should look approachable and smart not stuck up and uncomfortable wearing a suit and tie in either red hot weather sweating or freezing cold in winter. It’s the 21st century in an old mining town with salt of the Earth people not the Stock Exchange or a boardroom.
Expect phone calls and text on your days off and holidays numerous times. Your people are stressed and at breaking point and all you think about is money. At one time I was proud and excited to work for Vertu, you stood for something. Vertu is now too big, underfunded and hellish to work for.
The CEO is so far along the spectrum he’s about to fall off it. He walks (marches) into dealerships, completely ignores or is rude to his staff. I stood within earshot of him in Germany and heard him say that he recognised a few people there but didn't want to say anything to them because he thought he may of sacked them at some time. What the……???

Talk to the people who do the jobs before implementing new systems and get their input.
Spend money on your infrastructure, not just at one or two sites.
Climb aboard the 21st Century and shed off the 1980’s way in which you treat your staff.
Someone needs to have a strong word with the CEO as he needs carting off to a padded room.

Awful, inexperienced management, some teams more so than others. Career progression is there but it’s lead to this mgmt issue. A lot of working in silos, poor cross team collaboration. Zero training, need to either know prior or teach yourself.

Be flexible across the board rather than one person allowed to work from home/ different hours and the next person not. Keep things professional- I’ve seen a lot of bullying from particular person, it’s well known yet no managers in the team speak out. A lot of people are leaving and it will keep happening until you put better leaders in places of authority.
