Poor leadership, poor decision making, poor professionalism

The scientist work really hard and do all they can to help the company succeed. Great colleagues. Supportive of each other.

Arbutus leadership is the worst I have experienced in my career. Egos run rampant (especially with the CSO) and they are completely blind to the needs of their employees and when they know those needs they do not care. Terrible culture. Culture of eliminating those that are their best employees while promoting those that contribute little. It is truly a bizarre culture. No loyalty what so ever for those that created the company. Zero trust in their employees. When COVID hit an email was sent to all employees saying “this is not a vacation”. Considering people were risking their lives to come into work, and worried about their loved ones, I think this one statement tells you all you need to know about how leadership perceives it’s employees. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work for this company.
