Fast paced.
Need to want to work in this environment otherwise burnout is inevitable.
Pay and benefits not keeping pace so there is difficulty hiring and retaining people.
Business processes need to be retooled or in most cases, put in place.
Not uncommon for employees to have worked there 20, 30, 40 years so they know by company experience how to get things done; not so much for new hires due to lack of onboarding and documented processes.
Can be a good place to work depending on your situation ( close to home, one of the few larger companies on the North Shore, etc.) and the department you are hired into.

Full of lovely promises but the truth is far more sinister.
|
Made some nice promises in the beginning just to get you through the door. If you're looking to get a raise once hired for a permanent position be prepared to be disappointed. Someone who has been there 10+ years is still only making a salary of $20 an hour. They'll tell you they need to take care of the "older more experienced" guys before you get your chips. Good luck with that. HR will also delay your permanent status if you call out a few times. And get used to the gossip among management and some employees. Whether its about you or each other. The work is fine but can be stressful when people are constantly worried about what you're doing while they sit and watch. Basically do nothing and management just allows them to sit on their phones schedule doctors appointments while you're over at your station working the full 9hr day like a normal hard working employee would. Expect a whole lot of guys watching and talking while you're working in other words. Did i forget to mention no raises?

They took me on despite the fact that they knew they were looking to sell the company. Within a short space of time , the company was sold and many were made redundant.Management all had golden parachutes, but not 98% of the workforce.No appreciation or respect for the workforce

Permanent=Taking advantage, cocky permanent employee

Sad to see experienced, permanent people who takes advantage of this great company. They would milk the hr out and get little done. Then as the work gets push for meeting deadline, domino effect happen. Quality issue because milker gets push to pick up their slack. Speed equals to defect. Then from the top to bottom. Hard working temp like myself gets it. Working extra hard to get the flow and rhythm going. Prolly won't even get perm but screw it. It's time for new generation.
