Good money but long work days and so much take home work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Some flexibility if not busy and not inside all day.
Pay is good
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Way too many ppl to see in one day, traveling all over and they don’t keep you in a specific territory. If someone cancels on you they add more patients. Soooo much take home work, impossible to do with children! When your ‘on call’ you are actually working a full day that could be a 10-12hr day.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment isn’t terrible, just not a ton of support from the staff. You have to be able to work independently.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy! 6-8 patients, some admissions, some follow ups but you’re expected to see at least 6 pts. No matter what acuity or how complicated.

If you are not of the majority religion, be sure to keep it secret and prepare for backlash if you’re found out. Even if you “fit in,” you will be micromanaged. The most enjoyable part of the job is the patients; but be sure to avoid your coworkers and never let management know anything personal about you. If you have a disability, stay far, far away. It will be best for a person with any disability, even unseen, to not even bother applying.

I love my coworkers all have a good attitude and helpful

I love being able to help people and feel a sense of purpose. My supervisors are great and work with my schedule I am prn. The hardest part of hospice is the emotional aspect and I am older so it’s struggle with the computer the good thing is there is always someone willing to help me with anything I might struggle with.

Horrible management. Loads of turnover
|
Try to use you as much as possible and change the rules to suit their agenda. Not supportive of staff. Management has less experience than most field staff. Do not care about how great you are with families and patients only about their bottom line. They say they want work life balance but only for the management and doctor who never answer their phone.

What I Believe I Learned:

Nice place to work

Not a bad company to work for! A typical day consisted of me getting a list of patients. I would map out the best route and call clients to give them an estimated time I would be there. Once you go in their home you collect and document vital signs then help them with bathing. Pretty easy going job as long as you do what you’re suppose to.

This company fails to meet standards.
|
Highly recommend avoiding employment with this company. The onboarding process is moderately difficult. The training is pure torture. For clinicians all documentation is on a teeny tiny tablet which is painfully slow and the HomeCare Home Base software is cumbersome and nauseatingly repetitive. Clinicians spend little time providing actual care. Beware of bait and switch method of salary. (hourly switching to per visit after 90 days) No single person in the agency seemed to know what they were doing, nor did anyone really seem to care about your well being, let alone the patients who were being cared for. Patient's seldom see the same clinician twice. All communication is electronic, conversation is minimal. It is all "do it yourself" or it won't get done.
