Pay was on low side but we loved our team and bonuses were very high though so that was very nice.

What is the best part of working at the company?
No longer have a U.S. team but when they did they were amazing to work for. It wasn’t the highest pay in the industry but we were still happy.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing when we would be laid off
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great, we were treated with respect and had access to C-level people at major meetings.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Like any other pharma job. We work on our own.

The Reduce IT trial made Amarin a great place to work, sadly, the company lost a patent fight. Had it been able to keep the patent, today Vascepa would probably be selling $5B/year.

The work environment was professional and supportive. I felt comfortable with my all my colleagues. There was refreshingly little of the gossiping and politicking I've experienced in other companies.

Amarin had huge potential, but with only 1 medication in the bag, once they lost exclusivity on their patent they had nowhere to go. They went from over a 700 rep sales force to today where there are no sales representatives left in the U.S. The pay was good, the pressure high to produce on a medication that had several generics launched on the market was too much and once the court appeals were exhausted and generics came in the company almost collapsed. Today, I think most of their effort are in the overseas markets. Lack of preparation and future vision beyond the one drug was a lesson for all single medication pharmaceutical companies.

They went from over a 700 rep sales force to today where I'm not even sure they have 1 rep left in the U.S. The pay was low, the pressure high to produce on a medication that most felt was simply a fish oil derivative and once the courts agreed and generics came in the company almost collapsed. Today, I think most of their sales are overseas. Lack of future vision beyond the one drug was a lesson for all single medication pharmaceutical companies. One trick ponies don't last in this industry.
