Stable but antiquated, unexciting workplace

Pay seems to be below market value for nearly every position. Company is very stable though and friendly to long-term employment. Many people work their full career life here, rising to mid-management and stalling. Company follows Scrum and Agile, but barely. Itâs for show only, with most people uncaring if you adhere to the process as long as they can point to the charts and claim progress. Work comes in waves, with times where you do very little. Main product teams generate the money and are compensated better than support teams.
Hard work is not rewarded, itâs better to do what you need to stay employed than to put more effort in. Promotions and raises exist but seem formulaic over merit-based; put in your time and you can raise. Overall a cushy, comfortable company to work for if you value your free time and just want to collect a paycheck.

Management is very disjointed and doesn’t help employees succeed. A lot of pressure on employees to be perfect right away. No communication amongst other groups; leads to a lot of confusion and stress.

No communication or clear goals for the future
|
Ansys makes a interesting product and has a lot of potential to be a great company to work for, but management does a really good job of ruining any chance of that. There is no communication from management on any level, and no clear goals for where the company is going. Most people feel unsafe in their positions, as the only goal of the company is to save as much money as possible by moving jobs to India. There is no clear path for promotion, and no room to voice any of your concerns without being labeled as negative.

Leadership has no interaction directly with teams that make them profit.
Random cutbacks for no apparent reasons and blatantly hide the truth when asked direct questions about the path the company has moving forward.
A small group wields ultimate decisions on who should stay or go based on if they like the person. If you pose any threat from an intellectual point of view, you will be eliminated, eventually.
