Science has advanced beyond this company's approach. A refreshed approach to bispecific antibody targeting and activation is needed to treat cancer.
There is minimal understanding of the science, drug development and immuno-biotech within senior management and the Board.
Business leaders espouse the importance of culture, unfortunately Aptevo's bright and motivated drivers of this strain to new drugs have departed. Monumental executive mistakes have accumulated, making is extraordinarily difficult to climb out of the pit that has been created. Only luck via revenue from past generations has kept this company from delisting.

As a recent spin off, Aptevo is a new company focused on new opportunities but is not a startup, this feels more like an established company with experienced staff, traditions, a commercial product and a deep research pipeline. In that regard it's very unique and well positioned.
